The 3.3's are not terrible, your just making stuff up now, maybe there are a few that may need sealed ect but mine is perfectly fine, i tuned it weeks ago and just fired it up today, runs like a champ without touching needles. Is it the best? no, is the savage engines the best? No!

I will never own another HPI..

The Savage would win by FAR in a monster truck battle between the savage and the revo. Durability of the revo stinks. We broke two a arms in one tank of fuel on by buddy's 3.3 revo once. And their engines are terrible. the 3.3 is a nightmare to tune
LOL , this thread was almost 2 years old when it was revived so I think forum etiquette does not apply here

Agreed ! Nothing wrong with the 3.3 IMO , my nephew is running an original REVO 3.3 from when they first came out and its got at least 8-9 gallons on it and it still runs decent and he is pretty clueless about nitro and still manages to get a good tune out of it .

I got a kick out of the forum policing to lol.. It really all boils down to the end user anyways, when i bought my first truck, i read TONS of reviews and TONS of threads on all the various trucks out and still wound up buying what i wanted to buy regardless of what people had to say.

Just didn't care for the platform, the guy who bought mine breaks something everyday, literally, i know it's because he probably expects to much out of it but it's down right now as i type this. He's not that hard on it..

If i have other options with better platforms, i will certainly choose them over HPI when it comes to MT's..

Some of you guys are mixing things up.

The Thunder Tiger MTA4 is exactly the same thing as an Associated MGT - which is very much a monster truck. (TT owns AE)

The TT MT4 G3 is basically a TT ST-1 with huge tires and a truck body.

But for bashing getting hung up on designations like "what is an MT?" are kind of dumb IMO. Who cares? What matters is how well they do their thing.. And bashing, an MT4 G3 will out-monster the monsters... And a monstered up truggy kit will out monster the MT4 G3 (not really in terms of performance, but to some extent in terms of durability..) - but at double the cost.
