I think you'll be just fine running it without a BEC. The specs on the 7955TG are 333.29 oz @6v, so assuming everything is linear, at 5.75v you're looking at ~319 oz. That's still almost 3x the torque of the stock servo, so you will probably enjoy the difference.

Took it for a spin again last night, and lost a hex pin. No biggy, just a pain to end a day!

What does anyone else here use as a retainer for it? Does anyone use a ziptie, or maybe even Rc8be uni c clips?

Use some o rings,, that's what I did. Harder ones not the soft ones

Thanks Latufu. Got it in last night and only tried it in the house but seems plenty strong.
I am using o-rings also to keep the pins in! Works great.

Stock servo just doesn't cut it, my buddy and I put in a Sanwa SDX-901 Servo instead, now it goes in the direction we steer. Here are the specs:

Torque -
4.8V: 319.4 oz-in (23.00 kg-cm)
6.0V: 402.7 oz-in (29.00 kg-cm)

Speed -
4.8V: 0.19 sec/60°
6.0V: 0.19 sec/60°
Weight: 2.33 oz (66.0 g)

The slightly heavier servo also helps keep the front end down more I feel. Here's a short clip of it on 4S Lipos:

I don't care that much, because electric is not really my thing, but some of you MT4 people might be interested.. New TT truggy:

Looks like an ST-1 update more or less..

TT also is using the MTA4 platform to make a 2-speed nitro SC truck, and is also coming out with a 1/8 brushless rally car...

I see using parts from that to convert mine into the ST4 g3! I like the truggy look. I am interested in the rally car too, can't wait to see that.
