You have to put the spring on and twist it where it connects so it won't come apart easily is all.

Its been a while since I worked on a clutch like that, but is the spring supposed to attach to itself and just fit in the groove? I can't see it popping off that way, but I'm not sure if that is how its designed..

(I prefer the standard clutch style arrangement. It may be a pain, but I like the 3 shoe aluminum clutch on my Savage.)

ok, i think i got it. i took everything apart for a third time. i put the spring back on the clutch shoes and put them on the clutch disc. but the bell gear on, then e-clip. cranked it over and it seemed fine. so i put everything back together and cranked it again and all is good. i'll try running it tomorrow and see how it runs. i also got the blue alum. servo mounts for the steering servo. plus the blue alum. wheel hexes. and i got the blue alum. pivot ball caps for the rear. i still need 4 more for the front.

yea one end has a little hook and the other end has a little loop. then it fits down in a groove. if this doesnt hold up, i might try the 3 shoe aluminum clutch shoes.

That is supposed to be the clutch setup for a 3.3......I never got around to installing my 3.3 (OS18tm instead) but the MIP clutch was highly recommended then. I'd be surprised if it doesn't do all you expect and more...
