Nothing like an old stocker brought back to life!
Can't decide on paint, so it's going to stay white for a while longer I guess https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7351/...9656bfb1_z.jpgIMG_20160507_092109 by mrgrimm1, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7685/...26f3e3d3_z.jpgIMG_20160507_160439 by mrgrimm1, on Flickr And why not some pics of it's modified brother, a bit dusty after a quick run. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7617/...cf52deaa_z.jpgIMG_20160507_160519 by mrgrimm1, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7415/...f0080a24_z.jpgIMG_20160507_160527 by mrgrimm1, on Flickr |
I've been thinking about getting a clodbuster recently. It looks like fun, but I'm kinda torn between the the clod and a txt-2

I really like all the other Tamiya monsters too. In fact the others are even neater because they use a more realistic drive line. I go with Clods because they are a bit cheaper, more available, and I am familiar with them. Maybe one day I will get a TXT or Jugg but don't know when.
Post up some pics of whatever you get! |

SHOOT! I linked the stock motors for a cheap price, and forgot to link the ESC I run. Anyways, here it is. The WP-1040. Lipo capable to 3s, waterptoof, and does a good job running mild twin brushed motors - You don't need a specific dual motor/battery esc if you wire things up correctly.
The stock Tamiya ESC I am unsure of because I have never tried it. http://www.redcatracing.com/HW-WP-1040-BRUSHED |

Ah yea that makes more sense now:lol:. I did find one other ESC that looks promising. The Hobbywing Quicrun WP 860. That on 3s with a pair of 20T Orion Methods sounds like a killer combo for the price. For the price of that ESC, it would be worth a shot I think!

For sure! I stumbled onto that awhile back when looking into a Clod, before I decided to start my Tamiya collection with a Lunchbox instead. It looks like it was actually meant for trucks like the Clod or maybe even Traxxas brushed trucks. The amperage ratings on it look promising, it should have no issue running 20T mod motors I'm thinking. I have an Orion 15T double I use for my Revo, and that's rated at 22 amps under load.

Lets not leave out the Clodbuster's little (big?) brother - THE MIGHTY BULLHEAD!
It's complete and rtr with 55 turn motors installed, but I stole the fuel tanks for another truck and eventually the body will be used on another truck too - but for now it can cling to a few moments of glory! https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7669/...dd5a74ef_z.jpgIMG_20160521_191137 by mrgrimm1, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7228/...3d3f66cd_z.jpgIMG_20160521_141145 (1) by mrgrimm1, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7663/...91e0ed0c_z.jpgIMG_20160521_150348 by mrgrimm1, on Flickr |

I finally got my first Super Clodbuster finished up. I went with a box style paint job, I think it turned out pretty well.
As you can see I've already changed a couple things, t-maxx shocks, 3d-printed 1/2in lift (designed and printed by me) and 17.5mm offset pro-line brawlers. I hoping to design and print up some axle bumpers with servo mounts next http://i.imgur.com/VwrqPHu.jpg |
In the mist of doing a race Clod but thinking about abandoning it. Then again, it's a Clod....a real monster truck.
