Well I got my first clod coming this week... I'm going to build a moded clod! I've always wanted one ever since I was younger. I'm 34yrs old and I finally got one. I remember going to my local hobby shop on Sundays to watch these trucks race... They were so cool! My parents never got into it so I never got one... But 20+ yrs later I have one. I'm looking at getting CPE chassis kit. What other items do y'all recommend me getting to finish it off. I want to be able to race and just bash around with it.
Thanks for any info! Peter |

Thanks for any info! Peter If you do go with a chassis I would get the on the axle servo steering with rods I am not a big fan of the behind the axle set up it has much more play and slop. There are ways to make the stock chassis clod work a lot better if you do not want to spend a lot of $$ |

Thunder Tech's site says they plan to resume production, but there's no timeline established.

Hi can some one please help me I have a clod I have two 19t brushed motors and run a 2s lipo and I need a esc any suggestions would realy help please what can I run ?? Thanks

The Traxxas EVX-2 (blue case) is a good option. The new version is compatible with LiPo cells, and it's a waterproof design. Since it's wired for two battery packs, you can solder a female connector as a short / shunt and connect it as you would a normal lead to 'trick' it. It's served me well.

Ok that's cool but can u explain the female dean better to me so I understand how so u trick it?

1) Get a female Traxxas plug and a small 2 inch section of wire. 2) Strip both ends of the wire, then tin the ends and the plug terminal ends 3) Solder one terminal to each end of the single wire 4) Snap the terminals into the plastic housing. What you have is a 'short' plug, or a jumper, which in this case is just a loop running from the + to - ends of the same plug. When you plug this into one of the battery leads from the ESC, you complete the circuit for that segment on the ESC; when you plug a battery into the other lead set on the ESC, this jumper allows the ESC to operate normally, albeit at a lower voltage. Man, reading this thread and seeing all the awesome racing clods has rekindled my desire for a Clod Buster, I'm also one of those older guys who wanted one when he was a kid, but it was incredibly expensive in the 80's, so I never got one.

Started putting together my new build. Its going to be an experimental truck, one which I hope to try all kinds of new products and setups on before transfering and changing items on my other race trucks.
