i have broken a couple of rear body mounts on my tmaxx one the same day i replaced it. so i was think of replacing it with the powerline or trinity aluminum rear body mounts. but i was wondering if those would just be prone to bending instead of just breaking like the plastic ones do. if the aluminum ones will bend in a roll over then i will just stick with plastic because there cheaper. what do you guys think? ;)

Yes the big problem with Aluminum is bending...and in some cases i've seen actually fracturing the posts.....look at it this way...you can buy alot of stock posts for the cost of 1 aluminum.
ALSO one thing to look at is the RPM body post kit, it is plastic, VERY heavy duty and guaranteed not to break, and if it does send it back to RPM and u get a new one....it is a little pricey (around$15) BUT you also get a new shock tower in the kit...try them on for size..... |
ya i was thinking the same thing. i could just buy about 30 bucks worth of stock body mounts, but i wasnt sure if the aluminum ones hold up that good or not because if they did i would just rather buy an aluminum one and have the good looks that go along with it. thanks

What type of track do you plan on racing your T-Maxx on? I have been running mine on a parking lot road course track for about 4 months. :deathstar |

Sounds like it is a decent track.
First thing to look into are Traxxas hard anodized aluminum pivot balls #4933X. They make a big diffence. Also look into an aluminum steering bell-crank. Powerline, MegaTech and a few others offer them. SMOOTH like butter. Another quickie is Traxxas forward only conversion #4994X. This helps reduce rotating mass in the tranny, and offers a low price hop-up. :tire: |
CoastalTony: Thanks for all the Info. & advice, I will definately take it into consideration!!!!   If you have any other Tricks & or suggestions I'd appreciate them!!!! Thanks again!!!!!:D :D :D

The Traxxas parts & aluminum steering
bell-crank are the cheapest performance hop-ups, get them asap. Next is a damn decent steering servo, the stock throttle servo is fine, for now. I have installed the new Pro-Line suspension kit. For me on asphalt, it is a major improvement.:tire: As for shocks, I got a set of the Associated T/E-Maxx shocks. They were hard to find so I bought 2 extra sets.:deathstar |
CoastalTony: Are you satisfied with the AE shocks I've heard of people having problems with them & not caring too much for them, so they went with the Hot Bodies shocks or used some 1/8 scale shocks!!!!
