Well I've been into the R/C hobby for 20+ years. Been racing hardcore for about 9-10. I've been racing my Maxx every weekend for about a year now.

While some principles are a little similar the setup and driving style is very much different. Same way setting up a MBX is different than setting up an NT.

Suspension geometry is a lot different between the 2.

Well yea, of course its gonna be different but still u can change them to the outerhole to make them stick better and are you running brushless?

Yes, I'm running with a Lehner 1920/10 motor. Way over kill but I have it configured for low power so it's controlable.

And what I'm trying to get at is moving the bottom of the shock to the outer hole will not make as much inpact on side bite on the Maxx as it does on a staduim truck.

In a stadium truck you have only the rear wheels pushing the truck. So you really need good sidebite to keep the rear planted. With the Maxx you really want to keep the front wheels loaded so they can pull the front around. More side bite can make the truck unload the inside wheels and unload the drivetrain, defeating the whole system. When the wheels stop pulling you scrub off speed with all wheel drive. Stiffening the rear will keep more on power weight to the front where you need the most bite.

Keep in mind that all wheel drive takes a bunch more energy to get it moving quickly. Everytime you lose traction or use braking you use a lot of energy to get all that rotating mass moving again.

has a carbon fiber dual deck that I know you will love. There are 2 kits, One deck and 2. The dual may solve your problem in traction problems on the whole truck. Plus they look cooler than the stock maxx chassis. Enjoy!;)

:confused: I'm getting the impression you think I am trying to find more steering on my E-Maxx???? My truck has a setup that works as well as many staduim trucks and better than most staduim trucks. My truck is well planted and very quick around a tight track. Why would I want to throw a bunch of money away on usless aftermarket stuff that won't improve it? I'm not much of an 'eyecandy' person. I only upgrade stuff that improves performance.

I was simply giving suggestions that will help steering.

Well seems like I am to blame for this so let me set it straight.
I did say I could use more steering on my Maxx but in truth it has lots, I also like the "eye candy" but only if it improves the durability of the truck. I have lots of aluminum parts on this thing, Bulkheads,Chassis braces,Steering kit With bearings, Robinson Racing Shocks etc. It runs like a Striped Assed Ape, Flies like a Lear Jet, Lands just like my xxx't. I wasn't complaining just saying that it could steer better.
I haven't had much chance to race it because I live a ways from a Real Track:cry:

Pinky- I know you can make your truck turn better. You just dont know how to set it up. Traxxas made it one of the most adjustable RTR's on the market. I had a T-Maxx and the design of both maxxes are the same. Mine handled awsome because of 2 things, 1. I know how to drive and control my throttle 2. I had my T-maxx setup awsome'

It dosnt matter what servo you have, it will NOT make it turn better only faster beacause the wheels are so big. The higher the number, the faster the servo.

I hope you understand these simple concepts that we already know.;)

Mr RC: I don't consider upgrades that improve performance to be "eyecandy". As you imply, we only upgrade to make the truck work it's best. I don't yet see an improvement over the stock chassis for that graphite thing. And if that big chunk out of one of those 2400 cells in one of the lower pictures on that Xtream site is any indication, that system still needs work.

Pinky- Who are you implying to as "we?" I buy some things for looks like rims. Obviously they dont improve anything but it makes the truck look better. If your gonna have a fast truck, why not make it look good for the chicks??? LOL:lol:

and BTW- YOu stated that the maxx sucks at steering a few posts back. Thats why iam trying to help you. Iam sorry if you have hard feeling against people that try to help you. This just shows more of your ignorance.:(

I have not even seen that Graphite thing except in a picture and never said anything about it, In my opinion from the pictures and text I have read:rolleyes: It looks like a Piece of Junk to me!
To me the stock chassis seems to work ok and I see no reason to replace it at all.

After all this kind of input is why I and so many other people come to this place, Exchanging information will help anyone to improve the performance of a particular car or truck.;) ;)

Mr: sorry for running that together. You and I appear to have the same mindset. The Maxx is an awesome racer with a limited amount of hopping up. Although I kinda wish someone else would actually release a similar truck so there would be more a more varied mix for racing.


fireblade: I assume you are just trying to bait me into a pointless arguement at this point. The "we" did not include you. Was not directed at you.
Since you persist, you don't even have an E-Maxx which is not the point and I was not going to make issue about, but since you insist. You keep reading imaginary post's from somewhere and insist I said something I did not. No where did I say E-Maxx steering sucks. I did remark that mine acutally has too much now, and I have to dial out some. I did indicate max steering and handling is in the setup, not servo choice.
Now for what this is worth, setups that work with Nitro do not typically work with electric. A XXXt setup will not work on a XXXnt. The setup for a TC3 will not work on a NTC3 and the setup for a T-Maxx won't work well on an E-Maxx.

well, just got mine tonight and i was runnin the stock servo. DAMN that thing has too much steering. I nailed it in 1st gear and the truck did a back flip in the air and landed on its lid.

Pinky- I will be glad to stop the fighting.. The xtreme chassis has been proven to give the truck more center gravity thus, resulting in better handling. And you also say that the setups between nitro and electric will not work. You are wrong. All the cars you stated have different gear ratios and different weights. The E Maxx and T maxx use the same gear ratios and basicly both cars are the same all the parts are interchangeable. Thats why the cars fell like the same when driving. The only difference is in weight.

Hey guys, I don't own a T-maxx (but I will someday, I'm saving up for one :D :) :D :) ). I have some questions about fuel. Will Trinity Monster Horsepower 20% be an ok fuel for the T-maxx? I know Traxxas reccomends Traxxas Top Fuel, but I think the Monster Horsepower is a better fuel. I will want to do racing with it so I want a good fuel for power and protection, but I also don't want to void the engine warrenty :rolleyes: . Will using Monster Horsepower fuel void the Traxxas engine warrenty? What fuel do you guys reccomend? Thanks! :)

You can run any fuel as long as it has the right oil mixture. But you dont have to worry about that because about 98% of all car fuels use the right mixtures. Trinity monster is a good brand, has a good smell too. Powermaster is another good one, has a awsome smell and O' Donnel which gives you the most power but has the most awful smell there is. and no, any other fuel will not void warrenty. Only if it needs to rebuilt there not gonna do it for free your gonna have to bust out the cash. Other than that any fuel will work.
