Does anyone here knows what's the weight(grams) of the new emaxx stock tires w/rims? The old emaxx is stock tires w/rims was around 350g.

Also, What the average lifespan of the stock emaxx 14.4V motors and esc before it goes kapput?!

Here's a pic of my new E-Maxx. Haven't done much to it except red turnbuckles and aluminum hexes from ACNCM, which are much lighter than the stock ones.

I am thinking of getting the CVD set for my E-Maxx but given the length it seems that they would twist out due to the torque of the motors. Are these worth it? Here is the set I am interested in:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-E-Maxx-C...QQcmdZViewItem

Also, I was thinking, over time, that I would like to upgrade it to all aluminum. Is this worth it or would things break easier?

Thanks Dave. I am already researching the 17mm hexes from the Revo Platinum for the Emaxx. I am also planning big bores and hopefully going brushless.

Thanks

Questions?? What to do!?

Some really nice units in these here post's I just watched my nephews leave my driveway, both with a not as new as the day I purchased them Savage 4.6 . We run them as tomorrow would never come, until they got the hang of it. (they wont be stuck behind a tv/game anymore) and it only took me a week, 3 gallons of fuel, 5 glow plugs, a new bird feeder, some front end realigning and a new throttle servo for one of them. Cough sputter wheeze.. Darn Nitro was fun when I was a younger kid but now P. U. BUT! I have a prob now. I'm bit by the bug to play with the shinny new RC toy,s again. I like the new E-Maxx as me nephews researched all the buggies till they picked there HPI's. Nice setup but what I have seen, I like the E-Maxx. Problem I also like the buzz of going fast with them. Errg I like the waterproof of the orig. Doh! Now I want the best runtime I can also get. I wana BULLET PROOF! version that will stay together for more than a few months. I don't often get a chance to bash and crash, nor do I wish to intentionality tear one up, on the other hand I don't want to be timid with it either. Ok maybe a good one for wet play and a good one for Race and dash for the Glory, because I will need something to catch my nephews when they visit. I do not repeat don't wanna do Nitro. I tried to talk the nephew's into Battery with no luck. They saved there money and I matched it to purchase their choice. Help Now I see what them meant by I'm to long winded.

Default 6.5 hvmaxx

has anyone here running 6.5 hvmaxx on there emaxx 3905? planning to put brushless on mine. i have already sold my evx2 coz i dont want to have nightmares if i messed up the waterproof esc so i decided to go brushless but i prefer the 6.5 hvmaxx since 4.5 hvmaxx is to much for the emaxx truck at the novak site its stated there to run on 12t pinion/68t spur...am i going on the right direction on this or i could use 13t pinion/68t spur for more top end w/o compromising the torque....

p.s.: i only intend to run novak hvmaxx brushless system coz i like the way
sensored system run even at low speed...many tnx for the help....

That is odd. No one answered rs550 Qs. If I am not mistakes, some posted their "review" of how the HV-maxx run on this 3905 E-Maxx.

I used HV-Maxx 6.5 before in my old E (3906 version). runs great, long runtime and a bit faster than stock titans. No thermaliing what so ever.

For this veriosn 3905, I am planning to get the new MMM version. But I wll wait for the combo pack, not just the ESC. However, IF Novak is going to release a newer version of the HV-Maxx with the MOD 1 installed, I'll go for Novak. Just because from my experience (ESCs and bushless), I never had a single problem.

its ok 4wdmt...people here are probably to busy on their work or something so they dont have time to go on line this past few days... anyway ive read some thread regarding brushless system on the 3905 emaxx and that enlightens me a lot on how to play on the gearing, i think 12t to 14t on stock spur is the way to go, jst awaiting for my novak brushless system since tower hobbies says early MAY stock will be on their hand by that time, ive already placed my order of this system by the way are you a FILIPINO? coz ive read one of the post of sir miles saying KUMUSTA NA KABAYAN!...ill post pics once i get the novak 6.5hv mounted on my emaxx16.8v...CIAO!

Yup. Filipino here. I started this hobby there in our country and I brought it with me here in Canada.

If you are not in a hurry to upgrade, try to wait for a little while. Tekin and Castle Creations are bringing out their own MT or 1/8th edition of brushless. If I am not mistaken, the new version of Novak for their 1/8th brushless conversion kit will be updated as well. Most especially with this installed:

Anyways, Keep us posted!

No problemo rs550. You will be surpised on how many kababayans are also in our hobby here in Canada. I met 2 of them already.

To be honest. If only Novak have that upgraded pinion in the market right now with the HV-Maxx, I'll be buying another one for this new 3906 version. Just remember the recommended gearing:

nice to hear that bro. Ive already read the gearing chart from novak regarding on the new emaxx it says there 12t pinion with 68t stock spur to begin with so i ordered three of them 12t,13t and 14t pinion so i could play the gearing...maybe 14tooth is the highest possible pinion using stock spur and two 7.4 lipo batt without thermalling since 6.5hv maxx is more flexible in terms of gearing than 4.5hv maxx...well i guess this speculation of mine will be proven until i got my system installed on my e-maxx .....ciao
