Default E-Revo Conversion?

I am looking at converting my revo to a lipo, brushless monster. I don't want to use the gorilla maxx kit, or have to buy an e-maxx tranny. Can anyone recommend an electric motor mount besides the one from rc monster? (they are out of stock now and don't know when they'll be in) Any feedback would be appreciated.

Tekno rc has a brushless set-up on their site. I'm not sure when it will be available. They show to be out of stock right now but it looks to be a pretty tough set-up.

Not that it matters but why would you want to convert?

Why not? It's something different and would be fun to try. I enjoy driving all my electric cars ten fold compared to my revo, so why not turn that into electric. I haven't enjoyed the nitro experience one bit.

well considering you can get a e tranny for like $20 on ebay, thats probly the cheapest route. but if you dont wanna do that and rc monster doesnt have them in, you could fabricate one yourself...or get someone to for you.

So i bought an e-maxx tranny for a good price, try this for now. Do I need to turn it into a single speed diff? Do I look at buying the single speed conversion from rc monster? Any one else who has done this, I would appreciate any info from your experience. TX

Blue Groove RC Concepts has an E-Revo conversion kit that allows the use of 11.1v and your current Revo setup.

because i like my rc truck to have some nice power that nitro cannot provide.
that and 40 + min run times

rcm has the motor mounts in stock right now
i got one of those
i used my stock revo tranny and locked it into second.
locking into second requires time and 3 screws that cost about $2 or so
idk about the emaxx tranny
and bought a sheet of cf to make platforms for batteries reciver and esc + bec.

if you need any help lmk i just finished my conversion (- the lipo, but its coming, im suffering with 12 cells right now lol)

edit: fyi im running a feigao 9XL, mm esc, ubec, and for now 12 cells, as soon as i get the money im going to get a 4s2p 8000 true rc lipo and a superbrain 989 charger. and ive already got a hyperion balancer.

heres an older pic with no electronics, except the receiver, showing the cf plates

Well I have several vehicles (Nitro & brushless) and for me the brushless was just something different and not available at the time. Also, with a brushless truck, you just throw in a battery and your good to go with no bothers (noise) from the neighbors. I had an EMAxx with a Novak HV system and it was a great basher. But then I got a Revo and it handled sooo much better, I had to have an electric version, so I converted one to brushless and I was not dissappointed. On my E-Revo I retained the Revo tranny, because it is stronger, has an semi-automatic 2-speed and I can retain the mechanical brakes.

Here is the lastest version of my E-Revo. 4S2p lipo, Feigao brushless motor Mamba Max ESC. Faster than any Nitro monster truck out there.

Here is an earlier version of my E-Revo next to my Nitro Revo which is in the process of a big block upgrade (i.e. no motor).

This is an earlier version of my E-Revo, using 6 cell packs in a side-by-side battery mount and using the Novak HV system.

So I ended up buying a gorilla max chassis and doing my conversion that route. Just got it running a day or two ago and let her rip for a little today. This truck is insane, blows away my revo that was nitro. Will post some pics and maybe a vid soon. Again, this is unreal compared to my nitro revo.

yeah but i cant afford that big of a motor and you have to use motors with a 5mm armature to fit that kit dont you? the pinion wont fit on a 3mm one. and i dont want to pay that $140 or however much it cost.

im about to convert mine and was going to use the stock chassis. my question is... e-maxx or revo tranny? either way im going to be using a VXL system on a 5000 3s lipo pack. running it in my brothers maxx is absolutely amazing. it is the fastest truck i have ever seen(in real life) it outruns my revo 3.3 by a mile. probly a 50+mph truck. but which tranny? which one is lighter and which would give me the best speeds? the only problem i see with the revo tranny is the fact that it is 2 speed. wouldnt the sudden drop in rpms be bad for an electric motor?
