I really like the new setup, its a challenge to figure out so it was frustrating right at first but I like it.
It was nice to see a few more slashes. Regarding what someone else mentioned about the slash rules: I think the goal should be to keep it as close to box stock as possible so that this is an easy inexpensive class for people to get into as the advance out of novice.
Thanks for lunch Rusty, see you at practice tomorrow.

I would tread carefully on that. Once you let the cat out of the bag it is extremely hard to put it back in. We call it the Scott rule. Only took the one time and we paid for a year. Now it is no exceptions. Slash parts are very cheap. Maybe just a first time exception so they can get a idea on track then meet the rules in place whatever they may be. Just a suggestion.

Thanks! I overheard a debate about whether or not an aftermarket esc was allowed and if aluminum shock caps could be used so it's nice to hear the rules from the source. I also picked up a used Slash that had some aftermarket parts and as mentioned it was relatively inexpensive to return it to stock form.

Yeah I agree about the brushless slash running in spec slash class. Mmr has it right in the rules it has to be a 12t brushed motor.

I'm ok with being a little loose with the rules for now if it means more trucks in the class. As most of us get to be better drivers tire and motor are going to become a problem though. Hopefully it will work itself out and the mod trucks will move up to open or become more spec when the time is right for them.

The thought there was that if there's low turnout for the class I'd rather bend the rules than not have it. If more start showing up with closer specs it helps signal the others to spec up or spec out. Hope you decide to come Sunday, we had 5 last week and I think we all had a good time despite some of the trucks being non conforming. I know there were a couple VXLs, but I also had a more or less self induced 30 second lap. That's why I placed where I did last week. The winner was as far as I know spec and won handily. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it be as box stock as possible.
