Back to the track today with the non-hex extended wheelbase LC Truggy. Car was actually still really controllable to drive. Decided to buy new Truggy wheels from LC Racing and mount up some new AKA tires along with a new body in my "team colors" to match it's bigger brother.

Today was the first day I actually ran all 4 of my packs through the truck because it was just doing so well. The new tires made a big difference and I didn't feel at a disadvantage from the 30mm reduction in footprint. Car held up great with no breakage or issues.

Swapped the 35wt for 45wt fluid front and rear last night. Back at the track and the car felt more sorted than ever. Had to back off the shock collar's a bit so it wasn't too stiff but this little thing was passing 17.5T Stadium Trucks and Buggy's all night long and could now take and soak up the triple jump at the track without any issue.

No broken parts, no bent parts, no worn parts and we're 10 months in running this thing. Even the stock plastic spur is still holding up like a champ.

Daedalus, is there a 1/14th class in Omaha? Would be nice to find a track somewhat close to race at once or twice a year

Nah there isn't unfortunately. That being said, they will run any class so long as 3 or more cars show up so technically I just need to get a few guys on board to run them.

You can use music wire. Which is stronger than those pins. But there seems to be an issue with the aluminum hexes as well. They look damaged. What happened?

The aluminum hexes (extenders) were getting bent where the pins sat inside them. I ended up ditching the extenders all together.

Lost some width but the car doesn't seem too negatively impacted from a stability standpoint and without the additional 30mm in width there is less leverage on the ball cups so they have stopped popping off on larger crashes and tumbles.

Still wish we could use them and be able to use standard buggy wheels on them though!

Agreed... had to buy new onroad and track tires and mount them up on the LC truggy wheels to get the necessary fitment.

I know I'm late asking this but can ou run 1/10 rear buggy wheels on the Tacon Truggy? Without any adaptors. Losi mini 8 truggy can run them without any upgrades.

You can but the offset is significantly different and you'll lose about 10-12mm of track width on the truck.

I ran the LC Truggy wheels as they are the only thing that have the correct offsets.

I also tried the extenders so I could use AKA 1/10th buggy rear wheels but the extenders ended up failing and not being durable enough so I went back to LC wheels.

I was afraid of that. I run a Losi mini 8T and was thinking about getting the LC truggy but I have about 30 pr of tires on AE hex buggy rims. So I'll probably just keep the losi.

ThumbRC doesn't seem to carry this particular part or any other US distributor so I bought from Aliexpress. Took about 2 weeks to arrive but no complaints other than that.
Thanks buddy...I went through my old parts box and actually found some that really similar. Don't think Ill use them after I saw what happened to yours though. Ill just follow your advice and order some spare wheels.

Do you have to cut the tabs to use the 2200mah packs? Would you please provide a link to those batteries? Thought I read somewhere that someone uses hard packs and wondering where to get those from also.
Thanks guys, appreciate the help
