Which Proline shock caps fit the stock Mini8 shocks?

Does it replace the shock eyelet with aluminum?

rustlererad3 01-24-2013 06:44 PM

Anybody got a fix for the front shocks not fully compressing?

The dog bones seem to be just a little long.

Caveman, check to see if the diff outdrives haven't loosened and unthreaded. This would move them out from the diffs. When rebuilding the diffs Loctite needs to be used on these screws or they will loosen up pretty quickly.

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks, but that is what I checked first. They are tight, and if you look in the outdrives you can tell the screw is back a ways.

I thought about drilling out each out drive just a little bit?

we already know that the Jammin SCRT10 front shocks will work front and rear on the mini 8ight. I really do think that the losi 22 buggy front will work on the front and rear of the mini 8ight as well. It would be nice if someone who has a 22 buggy could confirm for us.

22 shocks will not work. I tried when I had both buggies at one point.

I posted this in the mini 8ight truggy thread as well...

Here's a shock update....

I recently went from the stock oil weight (30wt) down to 25wt and that made a difference as far as handling. A lot better, today I went down to 15wt oil and holy cow did that make this buggy handle so much better. I'm gonna try 10wt next and see how that goes, and yes I'm running these weight's front and rear. I'm also running the stock losi hard springs front and rear.

That is what I found also. But my springs are soft rear stock front. My mini 8ight is a little lighter though.

When you do pick up 10wt, 15wt, and different rate springs and you'll be amazed. It is very surprising to me that Losi was so far off with there suspension setup. With 15 wt oil front and rear with hard springs front and rear it now makes the buggy a totally different car versus stock. the difference is night and day.

rustlererad3 01-26-2013 04:42 PM

i cant wait to experiment with it

Bigpopa 01-26-2013 08:27 PM

I run 17.5 in the front and 20 in the rear with HPI 18 coil springs in the front and cut down Losi pinks in the rear and WOW did it make a difference on the track..............

rustlererad3 01-27-2013 01:21 PM

what kind of improvements did you see bigpopa

Where I noticed the biggest diferance was in cornering and jumping it almost turns in to good now lol. But when im running down long straights and let off going into a corner the front just sits down and lets the suspension set and gets good bite. Now when it comes to jumping it comes off the face of some big jumps at my track and flies perfectly flat in the air and lets me correct if needed. This setup is alittle on the soft side but to get this suspension to work right it has to be soft cause of how light these cars are.
