Just wanted to start the thread for our annual event.

It will be our fourth year now to raise money for the VA/DC/MD ALS Association. Always a great crowd and always an unbelievalble prize list and too cool to be true trophies.

Same location as last year only this time there will be a little more pit area.

Usual classes as before:
MiniZ STK (Hopefully handout 70T motors)
MiniZ F1
MiniZ OPEN (Mod and AWD combined, nothing is illegal except LiPos)
1/18th
and just maybe
MiniZ Nanos

Save the date - October 23 (Saturday) with practice Friday night before.

Food will likely be provided again for all drivers thanks to Chicken Out Catering.

Becuase of time we will be limiting entries to the first 75 cars so I would strongly recommend pre-registration once I get the entry form posted.

Please make this STICKY and feel free to post any questions for all to see.

Wow, I can't believe no one has posted any replies yet. This is a very worthy charity, and I applaud you guys for doing this event. ALS is such a devastating illness, and there is still so much research that needs to be done yet. Russ, I had a great time last year running my M18, as long as my schedule allows for it, I would love to make it down again this year.

definitely a worthy cause - depending upon my work and family schedule, I might see about getting the mini-z's out of the closet for some racing

Thanks for posting. I think most of the guys on RCTech are M18 and I spoke to many of them at Glen Burnie a couple of weekends ago. Some of the reasons for no posting (I HOPE) is that their attendance is a given so they don't need to be sold on the event - they'll be there.

Kyosho, Spektrum prizes are on their way. Atomic has signed on for major sponsorship and our trophies are already in hand! So it is coming along just fine. Waiting for some good news from Mr. Button and Mr. Hamilton (you know who I mean) for some more cool high end prizes!!!

I'll be working on the registration form in the next week and will post shortly but one key is that due to time constraints we will be limiting the field to the first 75 cars registered so pre-registration will be key if you want a chance to walk away with one of those car kits!!

Where is it being held and is the Vendetta TC going to be a class thats run?

UHill - if you pull together 7 or more then we have a race.

We will have a 1/18th TC class. Granted most run M18 but the Vendetta TC is the same scale and simply a different chassis so it will be legal.

Please keep in mind that there will be motor and battery limits

• Brushed 180 motor (Team Orion, Stock Xray, Stock HPI, Mini Mawler, etc)
• Battery - 5cell NiMH (no LiPo)

Russ, if it matters to you guys the detta tc is a bit bigger than an M18. Not that you guys want to turn anyone away, but its already pretty cramped with M18s lol

@ Mike and others - I think we will keep the Vendetta as 'approved' due to the nature of the event. It opens is up to plenty more people and if we get too many then we will break them out. Thanks for the info...
