Was that link regarding the Sanwa receiver removed from Kyosho's website?

Anyone else have rubbing issues with the McLaren P1 GTR and the 1.5mm offset front wheel it came with? I’m using the Kyosho radial tires. 1.0mm have no issues.

What tires did you get? I'll be running on foam mats most of the time.

Probably Kyosho 30 or 40 radials at this time. I was still running the high grip side of RCP track. I currently use mostly 30s on the one I race. Seem to work on the smooth side.

Just a heads up. Front and rear are different width. So you need to buy set of rack.

Kyosho 30 front/20 rear is a good base setup. I have been preferring PN soft F-type and firm or medium front tires for stock classes on the smooth side lately. The traction on the smooth side is more similar to that of the EVA foam tiles that many make their home tracks with. The RCP has more traction, but similar. In general, I prefer radial in rear and slick in front.

Update.

Just read this helpful webpage. Was probably written by someone in this thread. I'll order those tires, the pinions and the tape. I'll pass on the chassis plate and bearings for now.

I am not sure who the write of that page is, but they are a much better writer than myself.

I would also add a disc damper if they have it in stock. The disc damper I feel is the biggest upgrade for these cars.

What are you all using for lap counting at home? I'm aware of some free computer software that uses a webcam. I've watched some video of lapmonitor which appears to be very convenient and portable. Lastly I've seen an phone app that use the built in camera to count cars, similar to the older computer lap counter.

I use two. LapTracker app on my iPhone. Or the Zeppin lap timer. The app is easier. Not always easy to fit battery and transponder under some bodies.

I think most use the EZ lap system.

With Zeppin do you have to place it in the window or drill holes in the body?

I haven’t need to. The transponder were designed to plug into the MiniZ. Unfortunately aaa batteries aren’t enuff to power it. So I use a small 1s Lipo for it. I try to keep the transponder in the window if possible. There are times were it will miss a lap.

The Zeppin system comes with a 1/10 sized transponder. They do have Micro/MiniZ sized. But have to be bought separately.

I’m using Lap Monitor and have recently acquired a used Kyosho IC lap timer.

Do you run alone? If so the I highly recommend the Laptracker app, it is super easy to set up, you an adjust a number of parameters, and best of all it is free though I did buy a really cheap tripod to hold my phone.. After literally thousands and thousands of laps I can tell you it just works.

Cheers,
Jim
