Track finally setup and I got to run about 200 laps last night! Couple of issues with LapTracker missing a few laps or posting a really quick lap. I will work on the placement of the device and see if i can fine tune it but overall really good.
Now to work on my setup and driving skills :)..... |

couple tips I can give with laptracker is use it vertically not landscaped, also use a phone holder or tripod to keep it away from the boards any tap on the boards will shake it and it will think a lap happen.

Something I forgot to bring up. As most of you know the M96WC has the "Stock 86" class but I believe I am the only one who has posted a time for that class. I do understand that 86mm bodies tend to be hard to find and expensive and then there is the hardware you need to run 86mm cars so I can see why there has been such limited participation. With that said I love running my smaller wheelbase cars but I tend not to because they are not always the fastest way to get around the track.....save for Traveler who's stock GT1 is wicked fast. I am wondering if there is any interest in putting together say a 90mm hatchback class? Or, maybe just make it a Citroen DS3 class as the white bodies are still easy to find and reasonably priced. I personally find 90mm cars super fun to drive but also a challenge to set up so think might be a really good exerciser for both veterans and newbies alike to learn about chassis set up on a chassis size they are not familiar with.
I am thinking the rules would be similar to the Stock Class with some exceptions: Kyosho 2WD or 4WD 90mm Chassis AAA batteries Stock White Can, PN70T Motor or 3500kv brushless Kyosho Hatchback Hard Body with no major modifications (The more I think about it I really like the idea of only using the DS3 all in rally liveries) Other than that anything goes. Thoughts? Cheers, Jim |

I will be gone the last week of January, so I need to get all my laps in by the 25th! My first run in box stock was a good one at 337.78, with only one 7+ sec lap, five 5+ sec laps and an average lap of 4.50. My next 3 runs were almost identical, 338.3, 337.8 and 338.7. Not sure I'll be able to improve in Box Stock, so this was my first run. Need to move on to other classes and build my new 4100kv EVO... The January layout is very flowey (sp?) and fast. It also feels very familiar, so I expect some of the fastest times this month... https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...abe7523ad.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...e7dce0158.jpeg |

Man I really need to work on the setup for my car. Right now a 4.5s lap seems fast to me. A whole second off that is crazy. I guess I did get a 4.3 once so it's there with some work.

I am way off!! a good lap for me is in the mid fives :)
First time my kids (10 and 8 ) are running and they are having a blast! |

I have been racing since 2013 and started with offroad on long island at long island raceway then switched to onroad when 360v2 in new Rochelle opened up and running with fast guys u pick up a few things here and there to suit your style of driving. the car that did the 3.55 is the gla I got from ljh and I swapped the motor out for a 5250kv, way faster then the 3500kv i got it with so just keep at it u are ganna find something that works for u. Different radio settings might be the key to calm the car down or a spring change in front or back. |
I'm ganna put this out there that another driver told me along time ago when I started driving rc cars. Run every practice lap like a full on race lap balls to the wall flat out. Once u string 3 fast laps together stop look at times. The reason I say 3 laps straight fastest time is because ur mind is building muscle memory for where the car is and what it is doing. Once u get them stop immediately and do a change on the car charge the pack up clean tires and prepare for the next practice. Once u go out for the next 1 look and see how many laps u did and once u get that magic 3 look at the data from ur last 3 to the newest 3. U are looking for things like how long it took u to get that 3 was it faster or longer. Also how off is that magic 3 to the last magic 3 meaning how far off was those tenths. In any rc sport we are looking for tenths at a time. A tenth here and a tenth there may not be much but on a full hit at 75 that could be wat helps because u had time to spare after that crash and it didnt effect much.
This is a ritual that I do when I'm in the basement running and is a lil bit of the voodoo I do with all scale cars |

I've been thinking about this, and would be down for 90mm hatch class. The only 90mm hatchback rally car I currently have is the Ford Focus WRC (which I would run if it handles). I have a 90mm Suby WRX, but its not a hatch. The hatchback Suby is 94mm and I like it a lot. Would the GT1 or GT3 RS be considered hatchbacks? What about the F40? Maybe we should have a list of acceptable bodies. I'm not crazy about going with the DS3 because I don't have one and I can't get a white body easily painted...
I was thinking more along the lines of "Hot Hatches" like the Focus, Delta, DS3, Golf, Fit, AE86, etc. basically anything that would come with a HM pod, square wheel set up, and narrow front end. I just took a look at the Body Guide and I think your WRX would fit the "rule" as well if we do not do a "One Design" body. I may just go ahead and write up the rules for the class in the opening post and we can take it from there and see if we can get anyone else to play along. BTW, I am jealous of the Focus.....I keep my eyes open for one but people ask stupid money for them and they do not come up very often. Have I mentioned that I am stoked to run some serious laps this weekend? Cheers, Jim |
