Noted: To go fast, talk to yourself and self coach :lol:

I really find it helpful to always keep in my mind to stay in the middle of the tight lanes. I tend to be more consistent and when I feel comfortable i take the tighter lines. There is a rhythm that you need to tap into and streak as many good laps while taking time to blink and breathe. I think this is tougher than real car racing jk!

That helped!. Two 4:59 runs and feel quicker with the Box Stock MR04. Running the Jomurema body and it helps with the wall contact too. Started around 5:30 so it’s coming down a bit.

Today I got one of my MR03s switched to the new Porsche 911GT3RS body and that takes a steady hand to keep from sending it into a barrel roll. Going to have to figure that setup out. At least it is pretty good at landing on its wheels!

I have had really good luck with the Kyosho soft T-plate (https://kyoshoamerica.com/mzw410.html) and soft front springs for my RM cars. Less grippy tires and glued sidewalls or use disk wheels. Also some adjustments to driving style. For me the RM cars work better lifting early for the turns but holding a little more corner speed and keeping the turns a little wider as opposed to my usual super tight turns and point to point driving.

Took me a long time to get the hang of the RM cars but they are super fun to drive and suprizingly fast when you get them working well.

Might have gone too stiff on the T-plate (cheaper to buy one and I picked a carbon PN 5), but getting some laps in helps for sure. I had made some adjustments to the top shock and forgot to tighten it back down yesterday, works better when it is all snugged up.

This Porsche is a handful but fun. Looking back on the first page there was rules for Porsche Cup Stock but not sure anyone is running them lately. Trying to get times down running three cars, practice is helping.

joelisenat,
the last few months Poor Boy and I have been the only ones running the Porsche class, but Traveler has one too. With the re-release of the 911 by Kyosho HOPEFULLY more will start running it soon. At $80 they are still more of an investment than white bodies or Jomuremas, but still cheaper than finding a new old stock white body on ebay. I'm really hoping Kyosho will release the 911 in a white body! HELLO KYOSHO are Ya HEARING ME???;)

I too found softening t plates and springs, gluing the sidewalls, and watching the ride height helped get better control of the RM. I also played with no top shock vs. top shock, and adjusting damper springs and/or removing disks to get the feel I wanted. It also take much more finesse with throttle and steering with SWB cars. Lifting earlier on the throttle, more negative expo, and turning laps will help get you up to speed with the 90mm chassis! I really like the 90mm RM cars. I have 3 chassis setup as 90mm. 2 are RM and 1 is a MM (Yaris), my Yaris would be a RM if it would fit! It's a AWD or MM only.

Have Fun!

Since we're discussing narrow bodies: is there a ruleset for the "unofficial experimental MX-5" class? Or is it - as the name suggests - a class to experiment with setups until I find one I like?

The "Unofficial Experimental MX-5 Class" was thrown together since a few of us had MX-5 bodies and thought it would be cool to run a 90mm class that was could run the wide rears that fit the MX-5 body and not just the Narrow rears for the Narrow Class. It's an Open class, so anything that will fit under a MX-5 body is cool. I'm not familiar with what body that is, but it looks good! What is it? It has the look of the windshield I was wanting to do with the MX-5 windshield and add a roll bar to make it look like an actual MX-5 race car. I made a roll bar out of a PN Lexan rear body mount, but it's VERY HARD to get the body on, so I just gave up on it. A 3d printer would work great, but the wife hasn't gone for one ,, yet!

Notes- Car is running ok. The new 12C is the best Box Stock body I have found for my style of driving, so far. I ran this class last, as it's my least favorite class, and even though I had my smoothest run of the night with the Yaris just before this run with a high consistency rate to just a so-so run with the box stock. Still needs setup work with the 12C!

ugh i tried.... ran 3 packs through the MRX trying to get a time and just couldn't keep those 2-4 bad laps out... was shooting for a 4:05-4:08 range and could only pull off a 4:09 after many many 4:10 and 4:11's .... Not sure i'll have time to run anymore tomorrow so i posted it.

I did manage a 2.922 hot lap so that was fun :D
