I knew when I saw this layout it seemed familiar, and when I started to set it up I remembered why. It is 1 tile too wide for my room how it is laid out, so I had to rearrange the room, but I got it done! Luckily there is laminate flooring in there so I could slide everything around.
On the down side my 04/2.5W is having servo gear problems. It had Kyosho gears in it and it didn't move very well, so I got some PN Delrin gears thinking it would fix it, but after installing them it still is tight. so looking closely it is great till you try to seat the gear pack the last .2mm then it gets TIGHT. So I am going to pull it back apart and try to figure out where it's tight and file it down to clearance it. I tried leaving the top cover slightly loose, but the tie bar will disengage with a full turn.
Anyone ever had this problem???

want to run stock and box stock. Can we use fiberglass of carbon tplates in stock? Also which track configuration we starting with? Looks like you want to start with rough side, so that is fine-prefer smooth forntiee wear, but fine either way.

Chip, we are on the SMOOTH side going Clock Wise (CW) this month, next month we will be on the same layout but going Counter Clock Wise (CCW). Then in January we will get a new layout from PoorBoy. Basically a new layout every 2 months, with a direction change every month, but we have been on the Smooth side for a while now.
The STOCK class is pretty open with what is allowed, mainly any Kyosho chassis or PN2.5W with a 3500kv brushless or 70T brushed. AAA powered.
BoxStock is the most limited in upgrades. A Kyosho NON EVO board chassis, with tires, t-plates, springs, front body mount, being open to change, and Kyo. 0* Alu knuckles are the ONLY allowed knuckles to change. 7T pinion mandatory.
WELCOME to the Challenge! It is tough at first, but practice, practice, practice, and speed will come! Once you get it down though, IT'S A BLAST!!! Holler with any questions!

Hey Guy’s, I’m planning on going to a rwd open class car with a OBRC printed chassis, just ordered a Surpass set with a 3500kv motor( they didn’t have a 2500kv set at AliExpress or I’d have went with that) still trying to get my mr03 stock class car to steer right ( one of the main reasons to go with a open class car; stand alone servo) we’ll be trying to post some times with the crew !!
oh it’s Whoop racing season too and most of the guys are hard into that, there’s a race on the 17th and we are taking the track along

I am looking forward to seeing your build Walt! I'll be putting my Open chassis back together next month when I get a new motor and Ball Diff. Went a little crazy last month on RC orders so I'm laying off ordering this month. I'll be going with a Sensored 3500Kv probably a PN Anima, though if someone has another suggestion I'd be glad to listen. I've only had 1 sensored motor, so I don't know if there is a better option out there.
I did get my BoxStock chassis up and running on the new layout. I put KSK Soft radials on the rear and KS Medium low height fronts +1 20mm under a 2015 R8 body. I had to Super glue the front sidewall and about 2mm of the edge of the tire face, along with the side wall of the rear tires to keep from Traction Rolling in the high speed 90*s.
I'm still trying to get Front Tires figured out on my 04. Kyo. Soft (20*)LH tires worked well, but didn't last 1,000 laps. Don't have any Kyo LH Mediums (30*)but I do have some Hard (40*) LH that I'm trying now, and while I don't have any TR problems, it does have a bit too much Push on power in the high speed 90*s. That was on +2mm and I mounted a set on +3mm to see if there's less push while not developing TR. Might try super gluing some KS-M Mediums if I can't get the Kyo's to work.
Well I couldn't sleep last night so I dug through my parts bin and found parts to put my Open chassis back together with the Kyo 8500kv, and I don't know what I did, but it runs much better! It actually is quite good with Marka Soft Radials and KS Medium LH on 19mm and a 12C with the Factory Gear Diff and a 8T pinion. I couldn't use a top shock as the mount plate didn't get countersunk at PN, but it runs great without it, so no worries. Also I had to Heli-Coil the top plate damper plate holes as they both stripped with just one use! It's holding so far.

Hey Derw, I’m trying the surpass 3500kv and a esc from them too( not the cheapest as it’s supposed to be dodo) it was a set on sale with a programmer too, don’t know yet what I’m going to use for a diff but I do tend towards gear diff‘s we‘ll see. Take care guy’s Berat and I are going to try out the new layout tomorrow!!
Later Walt

Here‘s the esc and motor.just got them today
