Hi guys,

I'm another of the admins on the UK GT12 Facebook group. Ask any questions you have regarding the cars on there and we'll do our best to answer.

Thanks Trev...

I think we've got it going pretty good, a few rule understanding struggles, but it's been a blast.

Should have quite a turnout this week.

Mark Christopher

.

Schumacher Gt12 Lipo strap.

Yesterday I spoke to Schumacher 're some of your concerns over feeling the strap posts were too short. Today I have been informed all future Lipo strap kits leaving the factory will include some spacers and revised instructions.

Seems they had all ready seen your questions and acted. Speedy reaction from Schumacher.

and a pic of my car, will have better shot over the weekend

"

o"ring and damper fitted pre testing, also thumb screws for the lipo strap

As noted earlier, the 9650 spindle is off centre when fitted in the standard mounts. Core servo is a shoe-in...

Yed, 12500 oil is what to use to start with. Note the Chris Ashton set-ups in the back of the instructions, they seem to work fine.

Stick to the body list if you want to call it GT racing. We have been quite firm about what shells make that list and what makes a 'realistic' shell. Great to see Protoform making a shell - thanks Dale!

WE try very hard in the BRCA to make the cars look realistic. We actively discourage 'war paint' schemes like 12th; we insist on people fitting the stickers for front and rear lights, we encourage marking out the grills and we insist that the windows are clear and to the original positions and shapes. They look fantastic on the track!

My view is that for indoor clubs they are cheaper, better and more fun to drive than USVTA, etc. If you think that having a Hot Hatch class for 17.5 motors for beginners is a good idea, for example, go for it! Just because we love our GTs does not mean you have to as well. However, make the shells realistic and keep the classes apart - more choice means more drivers!

As the guy who wrote the original BRCA GT12 rules three years ago...

Don't fixate on the BRCA lists. You have your own lists in ROAR here:

http://www.roarracing.com/approved_non_timing_escs.php
http://www.roarracing.com/approved_lipo_batteries.php
http://www.roarracing.com/approved_brushless_motors.php

Remember that speedos get different badges on each side of the pond, so some names you don't recognise over there may be sold under another name.

My suggestion is that you adopt the ROAR lists either as well as, or instead of the BRCA lists. My advice would be to go with the ROAR lists as it will be easier for US distributors and retailers to submit their products to ROAR. Someone needs to check it through to confirm.

There are no speedos left on the market of any worth that are not programmable in some way. Just because a speedo says that it has a zero-timing 'blinky' mode does not mean that is zero timing. Again, my advice is that unless the speedo is on the ROAR or BRCA list, treat it with suspicion. Ask the distributor/retailer to get it added to the list - here or in the US - and then you will know for sure. Contact Paul Lomas our BRCA Eligibility Officer for how to get the speedo tested for the BRCA list. Find him here:

http://www.brca.org/sections/subsect...-committee/611

You will soon know if a new speedo is OK - just watch the car on the track. A speedo that is not proper zero timing will be visibly faster than one that is. Or, get it tested and on the list!

I hope you get the class to take off in the US. It is really great to run, very low cost compared to any other pan car class and they look great going round the track. You have VTA - we have GT12... we win!!

If anyone knows of someone looking to buy, I would appreciate any recommendation.

Default GT Ready to run!

Waiting on side dampers and the counter weight, then the GT will be truly completed. I added a shim under the lipo brace posts and it fits perfect now. Next update will be to modify to Exotek thumb screws for the brace for quicker battery removal.

Yes you did. The dampers will go on nicely with the brass counterweight. It's nice to know that the rest of the setup is all about getting up to legal weight.
