Here are the rules for another off road carpet track that enjoys good success (plus has lots of parts in stock) check the PDF.

I do not let Jason run his Jammin at MARCCA on the carpet. He tried once and even with the screws covered the leading edge of the chassis by the dirt shields were collecting carpet. If it were my carpet I would not want the heavier metal chassis SCTs to run so I told Jason it was not a good idea. Having said this I do believe Eric Whiteside lets them run on his carpet track in Winthop Harbor.
Thanks Keith. I kind of figured handling could be a problem being a big ol bath tub with wheels along with the metal chassis. I guess my short bus will be for indoor and outdoor dirt. I can focus on my old Yokomo sedan and try beat Tim's TC3.

I would run the stock class. What size motor do you guy's want. 10.5, 13.5. or 17.5? I think 10 or 13 would be better because if we do 17.5 then everyone would go get the crazy speedos and we would be down to 8.5 or so then. With 10.5 or 13.5 people can still run there regular speedos. I like the smaller motors anyway, so I would run what ever. I'm in need of a smaller motor, so if we do this I need to know what size to get.

17.5 isn't to small with out the adjustable speedos? What size battery do you run with yours Jason? When it comes down to it I really don't care what size the motor. Let it come down to the driver. Besides, I like to drive like a turtle anyway! LOL

My Jason runs a 17.5 with the Kinetic set at stock. If MARCCA generates a stock class with 17.5 and speedo set with no advance you would find that it would still be fairly fast with more emphisis on clean mistake free driving. Using landers, keeping it on the carpet, etc. The added benefit is you could run the stock class at other tracks also you would just need to find out what tires worked best at the track you planned to run at. This would take a number of guys to decide they wanted to give it a go though at MARCCA. I would say Jason was in but I do not know how many MARCCA races we will be at for sure, especially with the late start and ending time the off road program now has.

The start/end time hasn't changed since I have started racing at MARCCA.

I understand that going slower does lead to being more consistant which leads to a better qualifier time. Last night I ended up turning down my end point for the motor almost 20 clicks and ended up with my best lap times of the night. Hit the dots and stay on your wheels is were its at. For those racing Saturday, pay no attantion to what I just wrote.
The end time changes every week depending on turn out.
It does get pretty late some nights.

Since you bring it up, your stating that the start/end time has not changed since you started racing at MARCCA is a falsehood. I know we have altered the out doors start time to accomidate more racers and end at an earlier hour. The off road indoors racing is ending later than it ever has. Last weekend the last main ended around midnight.
Let me know if you need any more help with the relevancy of my posts Chad.

Just a thought but if you're going to create a class based on motor rules, it needs to be done by someone in charge... Not just a group of guys getting together, because it won't get done. The rules need to be in place first, then guys will race the class. It may take a few weeks but I think you'll see guys running it. Cater it to match up with other local tracks' rules.
Or, leave things the way they are, which seems to work well. The guy with the most power never wins anyways... Easy to tech because there is none, and people don't have to buy equipment twice. You can't cheat if there are no rules.
Really I don't think cheating would be a huge issue anyways if we had rules in place.... Most guys are honest.
I see both sides of the coin and both have pretty good points.
Really, I just want to run so I can punt Daryl

Keith,
The phrasing of your earlier post was worded to state that MARCCA had changed the start time for indoors. When you say, "now has" that means it has changed from the past - which it hasn't.
Good luck to Jason at Trackside, and drive safe.
