Yea, outdoors is better with rubber. Sorex 36 tires will typically work OK on the MARCCA track and last for a bit. You can try the Take Off CS27 pre-mounts but on the hotter days, they will probably wear out too quickly.
Outdoors the motor rule is typically 19T or Mod -- since the track is so big. I would guess they would do an Open class since people could run brushless then if they wanted. But, it's not up to me any more.

We had a person at the track this morning. At 9:40 the parking lot was wet and it was raining there. We needed to begin setting up and building the track by 10:30. The forecast called for rain and thunderstorms. We made the decision to call off the race at that time based on the information we had available. While it did not rain in the early afternoon, it did begin raining later.
Sorry for any inconvenience this caused. If anyone wants to PM me and give me their email address I will use the list to contact people in the future if the need arises.
Remember, the next race is June 5 at 1 PM. Let’s hope for good weather.

Too bad there aren't more electrics. I was planning on going but I went to bed Saturday morning when the sun was coming up! Firerider, did they make a separate class for you?! How much slower is the electric vs gas?
I will plan on going June 19. We should try to get enough electrics to make a class.

There were about that many south of you guys down in Monroe at the Den. It was the first real race day for them also. (some people from the Carpet races in the winter in Madison were down there also, so I actually knew some people
)
My bud and I were down there and had a pretty good time, even while he smoked an engine (check this pic... brutal: http://clegg.procooling.com/Den-Track/6-5/badpiston.jpg by having a wrist pin spring come out it seems adn embed itself from a port in the cyl wall all the way up the cyl and destroy the piston. ) And I smoked a nice Hitec 925MG Digital servo and A Arm by my own stupidity of not running a servo saver...
I would have to recomend on an off weekend for MARCCA's program you check out the Den's outdoor program its quite nice, some great people down there.
Only hassle is that 30 min drive south, but its all worth it once you get there. I am gunna try and make it to a Verona race one of these weekends, gotta ballance all the hobbies and real life kinda stuff.
