Circa 1983... This is what I remember when I first started getting into the hobby... It was probably 8 or so months before the Original AE RC10 Gold Tub was officially released in 1984 (and its subsequent domination of every track around). Tamiya & Cox/Kyosho kits were the preferred choice by many... I got myself a Tamiya Super Champ for a Grade 7 Graduation Gift...

These were the days of crude home made parts, modifications and hop-ups. In some ways (and in retrospect), it was a magical time to be I the hobby despite all the limitations... Nothing like seeing your own home made mod work to improve your kit!
