ASEANA Funfly Report
Pasingit uli from the elders
The Aseana event last Sunday, July 18, 2004, was well attended and considered a SUCCESS! It went beyond the Club's expectations. Registration alone was at least 40 flyers, although some did not compete and were only interested in the raffle stub . Food and drinks were available free, courtesy of our benevolent and generous sponsor, PAGCOR .
Weather was fair but the heat was unbearable.
Competition started on or about 0800H with the EP slowfly, EP intermediate/advanced and GP open in that order. Intermission included a demo flight of an Excel gas helo by Miguelito Bollozoy.
Crashes were a common sight on both EP and GP aircraft during and in-between performances, which means revenues for Pato and the other hobby shops (crash=cash). The most spectacular and expensive crash belonged to the lone Excel helo entered in the contest flown by Miguel. A piece of masking tape spooled in the chopper pitch links after the balllon burst which made control impossible (check out the pics). Fortunately, no one was hurt except the asphalt, Miguel's pride and of course, his pocket .
By noontime, everything was over. Nino, Jet and I were left behind and took care of some rubbish that some inconsiderate folks threw everywhere .
The Awards night was held at Alegria Lounge, Casino Filipino Pavilion in the evening that followed. Sumptous food and entertainment was again free, with Php 300 worth of gambling certificate to try out your luck in the casino (PAGCOR Rocks!!!) .
Tournament Winners:
Slow Flyer - Bong Mercado
Intermediate/Advanced - Alvin Buencamino
GP Open - Miguelito Bollozoy
Most Popular Plane - Zach Matuor
Raffle Winners:
Nino Santos - Split 280
Oscar Saavedra - Bristol Bipe
Alex Espinosa - Sukhoi SU 31
Consolation prizes of ceramic engine cowlings (with casino logo)for a tail-heavy plane were also given away. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!! The trip to Boracay with a hot babe was cancelled due to the weather.
The ASEANA Aeromodeller Group extends its heartfelt gratitude to PAGCOR who made everything possible:
Efraim Genuino - PAGCOR Chairman
Rafael Butch Francisco - COO
Dan Dia - Sr. Branch Manager
Abet Perez & Eric Livelo - Branch Manager for Operations
Same recognition goes to the Sponsors:
Casino Filipino Pavilion
Duck RC Hobby Shop
Hobby Station
Bullet RC
Special thanks also goes to Static for the pics posted as I requested (especially of me), and to all my beautiful fans out there who cheered me on when it was my turn to perform . More pics will be posted as soon as available from others who brought a camera.

Jet:
Thanks for assisting me. Gandang lalake mo sa pics. Papa material ka din pala.
Titan:
Yes, that's my magic xtra alright. I'm a relative newbie but felt confident to fly that plane in my first ever RC tournament. Imagine the pressure I felt. It handles very well on low speeds when aiming for the limbo and balloons. Except for some near misses (crowd was too close for comfort), that plane is one of the few that escaped that crash fest without a scratch. Control surfaces were also effective in that split-second when I avoided hitting the crowd and myself.
Flush that battery behind the bulkhead that separates the tank compartment. The Rx, anywhere in the remaining space in the saddle.
Louie:
Yes, that was your 12x5 APC. I feel comfortable with it pulling my plane. Thanks.
Lewd:
Yes, you missed half the happiness and a quarter of orgasms in your life. Alam ko nakapag-uwi si Britz ng 12.25x3.75 APC pero 1 lang. Ubos daw stock. He was offering it to me but told him I'd stick with the 12x5 APC (from Louie) for the meantime I'm not hover-ready yet. Check with him if he still has it.

Congrats to ASEANA winner.
Picture at Cattle Creek (July 11,2004)last week.
Francis test fly my Cessna, it take-off and make a one round then Landed gently. Need some needle adjustment, I found out that its 4 1/2 turn needle valve open, and the fuel tank bottom is 1 inch above the needle valve....decided to stop flying it, need to re-adjust the fuel tanks level, need to remove some lead weight.
Aerobate: When to Werner (July 17) shop to buy some props for my cessna, ubos lahat ng props, natitira is 14x8...puwede na kaya ito? I actually need is 14x6....I'm currently using is 13x8 with Thunder Tiger FS91.
Scratch: Werner has new light wheel by JAMARA, was able to get a pair for my LAZY-B.
Totie: Happy Birthday....Punta kami ni Michael Ong sa CC sana yesterday, we leave at 8:15AM, take north express way...grabe traffic from Marilao Exit...its almost 10:00am when we just pass the 2nd Church....Michael decided to go back home na lang.....I never expected the heavy traffic.....next time sa fairview na lang ang daan ko...Is there a another way, baka masmabilis thru Novaliches.
Totie: I already replaced the Cable of your RealFlight G2 with the Thicker Shielded Cable, Its works now on my PC using ur Interface and ur 4 channel transmitter.

brading: your cg problem may as complicated or simple as it seems. engine, wing, stab thrust lines may be involved.chk ur trim on full and 1/4 throtle. if it zooms up or climb on low, then ur engine has too much down trust, and vise versa.if it dives then ur wing incdence may be too positive etc. download the trimming chart from NSRCA site and follow the tuning cycle.
