Hobby City Rhino 3S 4900mah 20C lipo X 2

Hopefully will get motor this evening. Esc will be MMM. 21/65 ratio gunning for 38mph (61km/h)

Mmmm.....3S 4900mah 20C x 2....meaning 11.1V x2= 22.2V............what will be the run time like??

I wonder my Hobbywing 80A w 3665 BL Motors can take this combination as well?? How do we know , how capable are our systems??? To what extend...?

And if higher C, say like 30-35C, is it still ok??? The last thing i want is keluar asap from my ESC or Motor........

Hi SuperEk4,

Sorry, I was having a little bit if internet problem at home . Connection erratic. Was trying to upload this chart of feigao motor rating :

This chart shows that the 9Xl can take 74A before its rating is exceeded. Normally, if overamped, motor should get overheated & the rotor loses its magnetism (to a certain extent). However, for the motor to overheat until the enamel melt & cause a short. Hmmm, that will take a hell lot of current...

hmm... (I think laa....) to prevent your motor from overamped....

one way is to increase resistance, perhaps by increasing the pinion size to about 16-17T ?

another way is to reduce the voltage, use lower S count Lipo battery.

Or control Tx throttle curve

Or use a smaller ESC, and give that MMM ESC to me

Hi Radical,

My target runtime is 20 minutes. A 5S 6000mah has similar capacity & in a truggy which is slightly lighter, 20 minutes is possible. So, I guess 6S which is slight more efficient in a heavier MT like the Revo can last 20 minutes.

U have to check the spec of your esc to make sure that it is 6S capable. If not, u will see the magic smoke escape from the esc, very hard to put it back in

Battery C rating the higher the better.

hi Joe, I saw d chart, I wonder if a normal setup of 14t n 62 spur will overload d motor? Even I use d speed chart website n calcuated d power output it did not exceed.offshore has stop emailing me now my only hope is feigao but dun think they will swap one for me.

I m so fed up now I bought a watt meter.any advise on this topic? It will b a great help for 1/8 electric guys

Hmm, decreasing cell count is going to increase current draw. Put it this way - it's about power output in the end. Simply put :

Power = Voltage X Current

To produce the same power with lesser voltage, more current is needed & vice versa.

More current results in more wasted heat due to resistance in the system.

So, higher voltage setups tends run cooler & longer for the same capacity of power source (battery)

My personal feeling is that the quality of the motor is in question lah.

Some kind of wattmeter is a good investment. Use this one :

http://www.eagletreesystems.com/MicroPower/micro.htm

Records many things like battery voltage, current draw, temperature... I get good results but can be a hassle for a lazy bum like me.

hmm.. if we use Ohm's Law, I = V / R, voltage increase also means amperes increase... bro...
