I honestly don't know in what world Californians live in. They see the pay increase for fast food workers didn't work and now the hospitality industry wants an increase in pay too? so it can backfire on you like it did with the fast food workers.

Oh yeah... We saw this coming. There are no more full-time employees in the fast food industry. Only on the management level. Smart people also know that when you raise labor rates, the consumer is the one who suffers. It just irks me that people are so stupid to see that.

As for Newsom throwing his buddy, at Panera, a lifeline, we all know Newsom did that on purpose. He knew that the media and his followers would ignore it if he got caught. He proved that when he was out partying during COVID.

We also knew that skilled workers will come back and demand more money because they deserve more than the nonskilled positions.

Newsom just wants the votes from the lower-class voters while making the middle-class poorer.

It's official I think most structural engineers don't know shit once again I fired another one. First, the vast majority are too much of a pussy to handle steel structures, and those few that can tackle it I have had to double-check their math because they are clearly up in the clouds.

I was hired in my current, and past couple jobs, to oversee the designs from engineers and make proper corrections. Due to me not having an engineering degree, only a small few are good with my correcting their work. The others don't think I'm qualified, even though I have corrected numerous designs of theirs. Many of their mistakes are pure head slappers.

One of them quoted me nearly 17k to stamp and seal my plans I let him talk and after the call ended I busted out laughing to put this into perspective that's over 4 times more than avarge prices. I have done 99 percent of the work, with stress models and all the drawings all they have to do is stamp and seal it and you want a car for that. What a clown.
One refused to work on my project when I suggested using fiberglass rebar.
Another one wants me to hire a soil engineer and do 7k worth of tests on my soil.
They seriously see me as a bank

Well, if you are still having a lot of issues with contractors, let me know. I work with a few really good ones. Some will also travel.

it is an owner-builder so I don't really have contractor issues, just city issues with them dragging their feet and engineer issues.
