You know you say that, but I have my doubts. Here's a recent story. Yesterday I went to IKEA for a new waste paper bin, to replace my current one cos it is soiled. Bear in mind this is a like-for-like replacement. Only difference is that the new one is a different colour. Old one was made in India, new one was made in China.



Why, I have no idea, but being IKEA, the only reason this could have been the case was that it was cheaper. And China isn't that cheap anymore, just look at our RCs.
One thing the old man upstairs got right IMO, is the CHIPS act. You don't want your opps manufacturing critical chips that run your life, for obvious reasons. Ever since COVID, I hear some Japanese companies were doing similar. Also, pretty much all major clothing brands are having to declare they don't use cotton from Xinjiang. Cos they be enslaving Muslims. (Yes, there are Chinese Muslims, in the far reaches of China)
So I suggest you tell everyone you know not to buy SHEIN.
