what sct are you running? I have an SC10 on the way with an extra set of goosebumps your more than welcome to run for the weekend if it gets here on time and the weather holds to see how you like them

Edit:

Oh and to add, the Goosebumps will also work the best of any of the tires we offer at Hobby hangout, I think they work the best at our track as well. That way you'd have a tire that works both places you race. Of course when Jconcepts finaly release the SCT Double Dee's they will work even better I think, but wont work as well at hobby hangout

Check his sig, he's running a Blitz

However, I'll make the same offer. I've got a set of Goosebumps you're more than welcome to if you'd like to try them. I'll probably run at least one heat on the stock tires just to see how they do.

I have run all three M2 & M3 Calibers and Goosebumps at TT. Goosebumps are the better tire there.

Unfortunately, I'm out again this weekend. More family stuff. I'll be back first weekend in May.

I think were shooting for a late May, Vintage Race. It'll take me that long to get the old hottricks RC10 running again.

Hey guys, thanks for the help with tires and yes to all that offered to let me borrow a set. I'm thinking about running the stock tire first and then switching so I can find my own base setup for the BLITZ.

What is a good starting point for a pinion and spur combo on a B4 with an LRP X12 13.5t and tekin RS esc at Turtletrax????

I just picked up a FT B4 and hope to be back at Turtle trax soon! I had a blast this past weekend with my sc10 even though I had gear diff trouble and couldn't run the main!

I dont know that anybody here is running an X-12, I know they turn up a lot more rpm's than similar motors. The hot ticket seems to be the Tekin with the Duo2 right now. The only gearing advice Im able to offer though is I think Gene (team turtle) is running a 26t pinion on a 72t spur. I think Shaunmac should be able to give you a little bit better idea when he gets home tonight. He seems to have his Tekin dialed :eek

The X-12 makes a junkload of low end torque compared to other motors if that aids you in gearing at all....

I get to race this weekend. Mama gave me a free pass. I have a XXcr for sale. Does it qualify as vintage. It was released for sale in 94. I have a box full of good used parts. Needs a gear cover, body and wing to race.

I spoke with Marvin some on Saturday about the X-12. These motors are VERY different than the current crop of motors available. They need different gearing and RS settings compared to anything else. I see many questions in various threads about the X-12. But I don't see very many responses. I believe the DUO motors handle the added timing that the v2.03 can dish out better than any motor on the market. They run much cooler and are easier to find gearing for too (bigger sweet spot). Most seem to have went the way of the DUO. I imagine that's why we aren't hearing a lot of feedback on the X-12 motors being used with the RS.

On my Orion Vortex Pro 13.5 I'm running 78/22 gearing on my B4 and it's plenty fast and runs 120*F or so after a run. With my Novak 13.5 I ran 72/28 and my DUO 17.5 liked 72/27. All motors seem to have different sweet spots when coupled with the RS.

If I was to head to the track and start tuning on a X-12 I would start with middle to low timing on the motor and run something around 78/20ish to start off. Run Boost around 40-45 with NO turbo. RPMs 5,500 & 20,000. Then gear up or bump boost as needed. You want to establish gearing before you start throwing a ton of timing at the motor.

Pink Giggity?

Looking more like it would need pontoons to be competitive this weekend. Do Goosebumps float?

When it comes to the weather this weekend, I am trying to be optimistic and believe that the weather channel is wrong and that accuweather is right.
