I don't know how to run a race but that never stopped me before.

I'll do whatever is needed to keep the club growing. I am a racer not a politician so less BS and more fun is my thing.

I wouldn't worry about that. The Pres and VP should be focusing on the backend work of the club. Figuring out how to grow membership, keep everything going, setting up what classes are run and why, revenue building strategy, prioritizing items, etc...

The race director is the one that handles the actual running of the races or frontend work. But then again, I could be completely wrong on all of this.

As for officers, I agree with Bob, nominations are great, but it is up to the individual to want to do the position as it comes with responsibility and dependibility. By far, its everyone's job to get things done, but the officers help to shape the direction and organization of the club. I would even say in this regard, I do agree with Mike Henderson on the need to organize, however I wouldn't worry about temporary officers in place to ensure that paperwork gets done. Officers can and will change over time, dont worry about it. The key is to get things working and get excited, not upset about progress.

I'd love to see people that are vocal be in positions of power, but I would also like to see people that have been involved in racing for some time in a club environment to be heavily considered, since they typically will have an understanding of club dynamics. Keep in mind that personability has alot to do with picking the appropriate officers too as they will be representative of the club.
