Borrow a temp gun and do not allow the motor to get above 160 degrees. If it is hot, go down on the pinion size one-two teeth and repeat the temp thing after about 4-5 laps...
Right - I meant for the layout you have up north there, with 17.5 blinky, what ballpark figure it should be at. Thanks!
If my internal ratio is like 2.6 I'd probably have to run a 46T/68T or 47T/70T spur to keep up.

I used Revtech X factor 17.5 48 endbell timing with 90 spur and 44 pinion 1.9 internal ratio.

Got it - 90/44 I could never fit but you have a 1.9 internal.
Hmm, so the turns and timing mean you’re really putting down about 2100Kv at 0 degrees. (Assuming that’s the race tech model) I’m running at about 2300kv now so may have to get a weaker motor.
A shame you guys are so far away.

Thanks

I assume that you are running 48 pitch gears. I also run that pitch as well. I think I am the only one in 17.5 TC that does that, but it works for me. I have about 30 pinions so you can always try a few. You may also be able to put a 66 tooth spur in. Keep your current motor for now and get the car running. Unless you are a ringer, we are not going to care at a club race. You will probably be rusty, but having read some of your posts, you seem to have some experience. If/when you commit to the addiction you can get a new motor.. Many guys have good used motors and stuff for sale (Racers that you will see often and imo they do not screw people...)

FYI a friend of mine is running a 10 year old Xray +/- and kicking our butts. There was a guy that came to race with a very old Losi car and an Antenna radio and kicked our butts for a few races. I will take knowledge and skill over the latest and greatest any day. Having said that, motors have improved significantly over the past 5 years....

We are having a race this Sunday. Get your cars ready. Who will be undefeated after this race for 2020?

The next Race at the Village will be on Sunday February 9th. This is the 2nd Sunday of the month. This is due to the Snowbirds and the Superbowl. We will Run 2 Qualifiers and a Main. As we now have experience with the new computer software the program will be run very efficiently. We will have about two minutes between races and one can test between heats for a short time. After the qualifiers we will allow testing for approximately 10 minutes. Our goal is to finish the program fairly swiftly (within reason).... After the mains---- Should we get done early, and Justin has the time to stay, we can practice for a bit if we have enough people to help with the track (Stairs, etc.) Asphalt Season is upon us as we have the State Race at Coral Springs soon and many other races at Valkaria. Get your cars ready. We are going to need some volunteers to call some of the races. So many of you stepped up last time and it was greatly appreciated. This time, we are going to have a schedule that is going to be decided at the Driver's meeting as to who calls what races. If we can get 6 guys to call the races it will be a piece of cake. Do not worry if you have not called a race. One just clicks a button and states who is winning (No Charlie Sheen Impersonators) and announce lap times. Follow Jared and Marc's lead as they are fantastic.... I will also be next to the computer and will assist.... Lastly, we will always blow the track very thoroughly and make sure we spray enough VHT. In essence, traction will be the best it can be! Spread the word and let's make this an Awesome Race Day!
