Quick question. I recently picked up an Associated TC3 roller. I'm new to the on-road thing (except Legends). What class(es) could I race this in (I'm looking for classes that there will be a good amount of people in)? What would I need motor wise (17.5?)?

With your TC3 you have a few options for racing Sundays at Jeffs:

1 . USGT - 21.5 brushless motors - any 2s Lipo, 26mm treaded rubber tires - pretty much any modern race car body, except Touring Cars, trucks & Legends

2. TC or Sportsman (easier) Touring Car - 17.5 brushless - any 2s Lipo, 26mm TC rubber tires - Touring Car Bodies

3. VTA - 25.5 Brushless motor - 5000 2s Lipos (or lower) and HPI Spec treaded VTA tires/wheels (Jeff sells them!) - 31mm rear - 26mm front - VTA Approved bodies

Info on USGT and VTA here: http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/

There is also weight limits, etc...but you can read more about it there.

Hope this helps.

I good amount of people would be VTA or USGT. Both have plenty of people in them. VTA 25.5 motor and USGT 21.5 motor, both blinky, both have weight limits, VTA-1550g, USGT-1450g AWD /1200g FWD VTA need VTA tires, USGT uses 26mm tire, VTA 5000mah battery USGT no limit on battery, VTA bodies only while USGT you can use any body.

I think in VTA you have to run a "Novak" 25.5 motor only. I am not sure if he is allowing us to run any 25.5 motor brand out there. Maybe Jeff can pop in and say if it has to be a "Novak" or run any 25.5 brand.

So, what will you guys do on Sunday if it's raining out? Do you guys go inside on the carpet or cancel it completely?

Default A Good Day of Racing

Thanks to Jeff for the great hospitality. Had a great time today and met a lot of nice racers. The track and layout was really cool and I enjoyed running on it. The only regret is I don't live closer.
