That is the plan Rex. We will do our best. This will be the best year yet at Rick's, I'm sure of it!

I agree with banner73, 2fast4you, you are more then welcome to run with the nitro truggies. We are hoping that there will be enough electric rigs there to run their own class. I can think of 2 or 3 electric buggies but I am not sure about the truggy class. I am sure you will like the track the way it is looking at this point. I have a feeling this year is going to be a blast

I am treating Rick's as my 'home' off road track and will be attending all club events there. I am going to be running a 2wd buggy and a 4x4 SCT.

I am looking forward to summer!

That sounds great Wade! I agree with you. I am looking forward to summer too. I have a feeling the season will be here before we know it. I am working on my buggies right now getting them ready to go. Hopefully we will be able to start working at Rick's early to get the track ready to go.

Sounds good RobertsMustang. I feel the more the people, the more the FUN! We will be having our system going on non-race saturdays so people can tune and practice.

Sounds like a plan 2fast4you. Maybe you will be winning a lot too! I may not win but I can get in the way, haha. Then again, I am the race director, I am not supposed to win

Last year there seemed to be a lot of 1/10 scale 2wd people out there so I don't see that being a problem. I promise I won't run you over with my 1/8 buggy, haha

Default New Track is a go!

We met with Tom Kroll of Kroll Excavating today and hired him to level the current track layout and provide 160+ yards of dirt for the new layout I posted pics of earlier. Brace yourselves race fans, this is shapping up to be our best year ever!

I recommend black dirt, usually easier on tires and easier to work with. Clay is good but can get very hard and does not take water as well. The dirt that is there is actually pretty good.

Well we are going to scrape around the track which is essentially black dirt with a little clay. We have found it to be a great surface and we are going to get about 100 to 160 yards of dirt which should be perfect fore the track we are building. It ends up being a lot cheaper to do this and we will be needing any extra money we save for the skid loader rental. We are looking at 2 skid loaders for a weekend which isn't exactly cheap.

I agree Rex. The fill that will be used for the new layout is what Wheelieman stated mainly black dirt with a little clay in it. Depending on how much we have the excavator scrape off of the back 40, we could have a minimum of 160 to a max of 320 yds of black dirt to play with up there. This new layout will be the best one yet at Rick's.
