Chris, there will be a handout motor class this year...... but its a secret.....
Bryce, all 17.5 racers will have the chance to purchase 3 sets of tires for the 4 qualifiers. If you make the A main, you will have the chance to purchase 2 more sets. Lower main drivers will be not be able to purchase more tires for the lower mains.

Happy Easter everybody! Some MHIC news. This is not an April Fool's post.
We're doing a few new things at MHIC this year and wanted to let everybody know.
Motor Tech
We've avoided doing this in the past to try and help keep the feel of MHIC casual. But things are so out of whack right now with spec motors, we felt it's something that has to be done. All spec motor classes will require motors to pass technical inspection prior to running.
Triple A-Mains
This has been by far the most requested change to our program. We're making it happen this year!
Qual Points
We're going to take the best 2 of 4 and sort the mains via qual points this year. We've seen track conditions at our place change as much as any outdoor track simply because it started snowing. Qual points means every round is important, and we're super excited about this format!
We don't do a seeding round at MHIC due to time constraints, so Q1 will be randomly sorted. However, Q2 will be re-sorted based on top 3 consecutive laps. So while you should definitely try to put in a good Q1 run since it counts toward qual points, if something goes sideways, as long as you get a few good laps in, you'll get re-sorted accordingly. Q3 and Q4 will be re-sorted based on qual points.

More info on motor tech please ?
Using real #s or just a wet thumb approach ?
Deter proof tare down or hot assembled resistance ?
Going to have any motors for sale if someone has issues with all there motors?
What about f1 andnthe new R1 25.5 motors ? Might be a good idea to address this now instead of inline .
So wish we could make it

This will be my first time attending MHIC, and I am looking forward to it. I have heard lots of great things about the track. It will also be the first time I will be participating in a qual points race. I wonder if that will change how people qualify, vs how they normally qualify?! Additionally I think the triple a mains are a really interesting idea. I cannot wait to get the Gizmo down and run some laps!

A quick update to yesterday's news about changes coming to MHIC.
We've decided to run a seeding round (3 minute runs) prior to Q1 on Friday. Q1 will be seeded by top 3 consecutive laps. Cars and motors will need to pass tech inspection prior to the seeding round. Our tentative schedule for Friday is to have the track open at 7AM, seeding round at 3:30PM, and Q1 at 6:00PM. The track will be open for practice after Q1 has finished.
