Time to throw in my 2 cents and hopefully not pick too many fights at the same time....

If the japanese want to go 4 cell, then let them do it and see how it goes. And for everybody else, you can try it at a local level and see how it goes as well. IF it is indeed better then sure, spread it all over. It's a lot of crap to deal with all at once and honestly, even for those who tried it, it's not 100% better than 6 cells. There are some tracks that tried it, but nowhere near an over night decision that some governing body makes and tomorrow we all go 4 cell and everything works out. not gonna happen!

Immediately, it seems all too easy to pull out 2 cells, drive a slower car and break less parts. But when you think about it, is it the speed we want less of or the cost?

Lets talk speed; If stock is too fast for a novice, how about race silver can motors? Or how about trinity spec with the spec motors and spec cells, heck; cheap spec car too! In the world of RC car racing, you can't get much cheaper than racing silver can or spec. Please nobody bring up nothing about running in a silver can till it dies to make it fast! Thats not a beginners thing! It's for pros trying to win a silver can class! There are a gazillion ways to reduce speed if the problem is do to that of novice racers. If 4 cells is meant to be a novice class, it makes more sense to learn on 6 cells+slow motor cause the cars are designed for 6 cells; ofcourse thats unless you intend on killing 6 cells for good!

Cost-wise?; as of right now, it seems cheaper to take out 2 cells and break less stuff. How about a new battery war to keep competitive? And most likely we will run longer races just because we can and it's back to more battery war! We'll also waste a motor's potential life just to keep competitive (has anyone run oval back in the day?) And we haven't looked at when manufacturers will start pumping out "must have" motors that are designed for 4 cell use! THEN you also got 4 cell TC's! Yes, cars with possibly thinner chassis and weaker parts to make a competitive 4 cell specific chassis. And you will see how we are not going to end up saving a dime as with any class when you start to be highly competitive and want to win!

In the end I want to add a shameless plug; Anybody for 4 cell pan cars? Narrow or wide!

I heard EFRA pass 5cells with 1350g. I don't know detail yet so don't blame me if it wrong.

EFRA website show nothing yet.
