On the 16 the bearing touches the top deck. After some use there is even a small line grinded on the bottom of the top deck where it touches the bearing.

I think they created another option by just lowering the holders - you can either shim the topdeck or add shims and screws to the layshaft as before. Plus now you can leave it without screws and shims, where it only touches the bearing which probably offers something in the middle in terms of flex.

Looking at my '16 car the layshaft bearing is tight against the top deck with the screws in it. So, if the new '17 mount leaves a gap then the layshaft bulkhead must have the bearing lowered or use a smaller bearing to create clearance.

The RSD layshaft bulkheads for the original T4 had the layshaft lowered .5mm with the stock bearing size and worked fine.

I'm not going to get in a passing contest, but having actually seen and handled the 17 at the world's.. I can categorically state that it is exactly as stated. The layshaft is not lower, just the bulkheads either side of the bearing have been lowered 1mm. If you don't believe that, then I guess just need to wait for the announcement.

I will conceded that the bearing does touch the top deck just on the current car.. although I had to check, as I normally have the top deck shimmed up!

No Lemieux either.

Perhaps no Hagberg as he's all over the 1/12 packaging.

Paul hasn't done as much racing lately (at least that's how it appears)

What's missing ? How about 2016 World Champion ? Or the word "Luxury" repeated over & over ? ;)

Völker won the WC with Yokomo, but Bruno was TQ.

Xrays promotion is really bad this year, the car should be presented to the public before its out in my opinion.

Still looking forward to see their presentation of the car as much as people are waiting for the "new" iphone every year :p

One can easily deduce from the image that Xray is focusing their time and marketing resources on their two-man show (Bruno and Jan). Who are without a doubt extremely talented and successful drivers for their respective classes. I completely understand Xray's direction with their representation on the box, however, it leaves a few lingering questions about the future of other Xray drivers who are not included. Which I hope doesn't come true.

One can only speculate...

Where is the aluminum chassis?

The bulkheads as we call them are not lower it's the layshaft holder "bulkhead " that has been lowered 1mm .
