6.5 Blinky is NOT MODIFIED.
You go from a low stress, high efficiency mod setup to wringing the wee out of a 6.5 like its a stocker. If you wanted to make Mod a no-timing blinky class that would be acceptable, or even if you wanted to run 6.5 but make it open ESC that would be okay, but making it Super Dooper Stock is not.
And don't tell me true Mod is just too hard. If you are a good stock racer, you can race modified. Its a technical demonstration as much as it is racing.
That is all.

Ya let's talk about um
I just got into 1/12 with gt12. I am really digging it. My new goal is to get good enough to run mod. I watched a few guys run 3.5t 1s boosted and got hooked. Closest thing I ever seen that Is almost fast as winged slot car. Got to get me some of that. Cheers to old thread.

Not quite sure why you resurrected this thread after six and a half years...?

I know this might be unpopular but we need to take away grip and stop running 1/12th on layouts designed for touring cars. Its just grip it rip it and hope for the best these days. Look at the Euro's last week, when is the last time we've seen a track like that in North America? Might be time to start thinking about separating 1/10th and 1/12th into their own big events.

Old thread some of the same issue. I heard some EU picked up 6.5, I would love to see mod have some popularity in the States. Hell having 17.5 and 13.5 being more popular would be nice. I saw a interview with Hagberg talking how different mod vs stock driving styles are, The Driving style of mod might be more suitable for some drivers. I remember as a kid we had stock, super stock, mod and open mod. And we generally didn't want to hang out running stock. Times have changed.

When I think about 1/12th scale, an asphalt track never even enters my mind, though (but I'm aware that people do) - for me a large asphalt track calls for Pro10, not 1/12th. For me 1/12th is a pure carpet class, somehow...
But are the layouts really the problem, or is it just the insane grip level of that black carpet of yours (when you need to run extra stiff chassis plates and absolutely have to glue the side walls of your tires just to be able to run TCs at all without traction rolling, it is simply too much grip (regardless of class) IMHO. So happy that didn't catch on here in Europe!)

Would love to see “mod” 12th grow at the club level. With the most popular 12th class being GT12 I doubt we’re going to see people jumping to “mod” be it a 3.5, 6.5, 8.5, whatever….
