Is the center slipper locked? Dmax should be well balanced out of the box.

Installed the Brembo big brake kit this afternoon. Kind of a PITA but they look amazing, cleared everything with a shim and don't bind at all. I'm very happy with this kit!

Default newb looking for guidance (sprint 2 drift)

Hey all!! IM A NEWB! HAHAHAHA (not exactly to rc, but to drifting)

i got a used sprint 2 drift and looking to do some upgrades/mods. I need to get a rx box, plan on upgrading the tx/rx (thinking the stock hpi sprint radio set or the traxxas tqi (familiar with the feel of traxxas controller... hpi controller looks weird with the wheel 'in the middle'...kinda freakin me out! hahaha), may need a new steering servo, getting some new (and spare) belts, mod the front and rear diffs (both lock and allow the pebbles an escape route). i've searched and have found several threads, but am kind of disappointed that there arent any hpi sprint 2 drift specific forums (used to the traxxas model specific forums...spoiled i guess). so are there any forums where the sprint 2 drift is real popular/active that i should join?

- where can i get all of these color alum. parts that i see?? purple seems to be one option, but i'd rather not go with that color (but can always paint)
- what would be a good steering servo (stock?) response and amount is more important than torque
- whats a good lipo that fits?

your patience is appreciated!!

(i will add that i am currently still searching this forum for existing sprint 2 threads and have found some keepers!)

Don't lock both diffs, just the rear. As for aluminum, check companies like Integy, STRC and 3racing. It's all just bling, so whatever color you like go with that.

My bad,I meant to say I plan on getting a one way diff for the front..that sound better/correct?

Thanks for the tips! As for servos, at the moment I'm leaving towards thoughts? wasnt the first option I came across, but was cheaper and still seems decent.

Leaning towards traxxas rx/tx...just trying to decide if I go with the older set or the newest tqi radio(have heard different issues though, but they have great support too..)

Thanks for all the help

I'd suggest a savox servo if you need something low profile. I run standard size Bluebird 661 Digital M.G. hi speed/torque servos on all my drift chassis. I havent had any issues and its less expensive than most servos with comparable specs.

I want to convert my Tamiya TA05 V2 to CS. What parts would it need to do this?

Thanks

You should just need main diff pulleys and the center pulleys, possibly different length belts. All you're doing is slowing the front axle down and speeding the rear up.

Right when you left off the throttle the rear locks up which makes it difficult to setup for corner. It throws killer 180 drifts but trying to setup for long sweepers is hard. Could be just me.....

Our outdoor offroad season last race was tonight. Now we are going indoor carpet racing.

This is what I would like to do. Race TC and/or VTA in winter then convert it to a drifter off season.

1) Is this something that can easily be done or is it just a PTA? I know this most likely would be easiest w/ a kit such as HB TC-FD but...

2) I have searched but come up empty every time. Is there any info for drift setups for a T.O.P. Racing Photon/EX or S411 for CS?

That sounds like a technique issue, not setup.

do you have a front oneway? If so then perhaps you may have 100% drag brake making the rear tires lock up as soon as u let go of the throttle?

What I found out is, once you left off the throttle the rear locked up. I couldn't find any info on the car on how to correct this so I sold it. lol On to the next.

Looking at getting an MST but I can't find any places that have a PURCHASE button other than ebay. I'd like to compare the different models. Any US sites or easy access sites that sell MST?
