Man, I wish there was a drifting sub-forum.

Wassup Huggy Bear!!
Yeah that's what blows about general RC forums. RC Tech is all about racing and URC is all about bashing. Both are blase as eff when it comes to drifting. The thing is at least they're active. You a member of CS Junkies? Between them and D1RC they're pretty active but D1RC costs $5 for registration.

I will have to check out CS Junkies... It's hard to keep up with so many different forums for different RC related stuff, lol.

I dont remember paying $5 to join d1rc, but its been awhile. Honestly theres not much going on over there other then a few of us and they dont seem to want to talk or help newbies to much. Drifting just dont seem to active anymore as it was a few years back, could just be people are to busy or not interested in forums as much..

Drifting just doesn't seem to be very popular at all anymore. I guess if it doesn't do 80mph or faster and jump over houses, it just ain't fun.

The Japanese and other foreign countries are more about perfectionism. The united states doesn't have the patience it takes to be good at drifting. That's why short course is so big here. It's the noobiest of all forms of rc racing. Pretty sad actually.

It would be nice to see more people running RWD RC drift cars instead of 4WD too. So far the only people who seem to like the challenge are our Asian brethren. Would anybody here be interested in a RWD drift class?

I'm looking for information on CS and how to figure out my ratio. I see all these posts saying CS 105% and so on, I'm wondering how they get these numbers and what exactly does it mean. I picked up a used cyclone that is set up for drifting but not sure of ratio, how do I figure this out? It should be here tomorrow and I'm trying to gather as much info before so I'm ready when it shows.

I can't post urls, but if you go to driftmissions website, and click tools, they have a CS ratio calculator that allows you to calculate cs ratio based on your cars gearing setup. Obviously stock will be at 50/50, or 0%.
As far as what is cs ratio, and what 100%, 150%, 180%, and 200% and all those numbers mean, it's quite simple. At 100% cs ratio, it means the rear wheel will rotate once more than the front wheel. So the rear will will turn twice, for every time the front wheel turns one. At 150% the rear will will turn 1.5 times more than the front wheel, and so on. There are many YouTube videos that demonstrate this with tabs of tape on the tires so you can see the difference in rotations.
