Give the comm a cut, change the brushes and depending on the track you run on gear up a bit....

done, done, and the motor temp is perfect right now, not to hot. I could try a clamp with a motor fan i guess?

I could put my 72 tooth spur on, make it go alil faster?

whoa, you are really undergeared. Try running a 25 or 26 tooth pinion. It will greatly increase your speed, and it won't do any damage to your motor.

ben your car was plenty fast! but you hit a board and its all down hill from there! you can only make a motor go so fast, its the driver that has to do the rest! and you running the same setup on your epis as the rest of us are for the most part! i run a 767 with a purple spring on the pos and a green on the neg!!

reduced the contact area of the bushings, lightened the arms and also reducing the brush contact area would really get you there.

+

the routine stuff hood aligned, zapped magnet, cut comms and replace brushes.

What size is your track? I 7.0 is good for asphalt on 100ft tracks. So some where in the mid 7's should be close on carpet.

Ben, you're at about a .78" rollout right now...which is slightly undergeared for a 8 turn mod motor on that size track

Go up 4-5 teeth (try 4 first, a 23 tooth) and you'll be right where you should be.

seem like my motor will be to hot then

i can hold my hand on the motor after the race, but i feel like if i gear up one more tooth, it will be hot? what should the temp be on the comm side of the motor? like 150 degrees or so? ill have to monitor it

You should be able to hold your finger on the motor for about 3-4 seconds. With the newer cells the motors are gonna get hotter no matter what. Trust me on the gearing. You're so undergreared that you're probably making the motor over-rev which also gets it hot.

Purple/Green works...you might want to try Purple/Red though.
