For those running lipos ie. Orion 3200s, Are you using the 2 battery holder ends that gets clipped in place with body pins? My Orion 3200 seems to be too long.

I am not Cliff but here's my take. Because the GT's are lighter, insert setups that we use on sedans may not work the same as they would on these cars. For that reason, I choose to use a soft insert with Sorex32's (cooler weather, left overs from regionals, etc...) The inserts used were Xenon Aqua's. I have a set of Xenon inserts softer than those, but they will be used when it gets really cold. THis weekend, I'll use a set of Sorex36 with Hara Mediums (sedan setup) to see if I'm full of it or not

At Tamiya, we've always used tape to hold in our batteries. Along with the weight savings (a feather? haha) you gain more side/roll clearance because they holders won't be scrapping the ground while cornering (with low ride-heights) and the battery is actually up off the lower deck by 1-3mm.

I am using some inserts I took out of the Take Off CS 27's they are the black inserts from the premounted tires used at Reedy.

I will be trying some new insert ideas over the next couple of weeks as well going to a softer compound tire as after driving Rtypes car I got traction envy.

I have also done some work to the front which may or may not be an advantage at Tamiya but we shall see this weekend.

Also I second what Rtype said use the tape the End caps are nice but they provide minimal ground clearance at the most needed point so this is why we do not run them "chassis dragging is bad umkay"

We are also running the 480 Platinums rather then the 3200 as they provide a little more more weight and the car is so light to begin with the weight helps Sub-C's are too heavy but it seems the chassis likes the 4800. I will do some further testing with the 3200 this weekend.

I have done some other minor tweaking and will report back after this weekend if any of it helped.

Will Le Mans bodies perform better than touring bodies on F103GT?

Thank guys for the info on the Lipos. I assume that either 3200 or the 4800 wiil be too long to use the plastic end holders.

I tried my F103GT with 3 different types on Touring shells and all had handling problems, I then ran the Courage shell and it was like a totally different car, loads of usable downforce, so yes LM bodies do perform better.

Will Protoform Porsche GT-1 body (for 190mm pan cars, discontinued) fit on F103GT?

The 4800 is a tight fit but its useable with the plastic holders.

I haven't tried the new courage body but using a proline body with standard size wing handles well for me. Tamiya tc bodies dont do well.
The old porsche and toyota lemans body will not fit the wheelwells are too low and small.

If it is high downforce shells you want, then Active Hobby in Japan make these 190mm shells for the F103GT

Everyone (at least at Tamiya) uses tape instead of the the plastic battery end plates. We tape in the batteries becuase the end plates will tend to scrap on the ground causing performance drawbacks.
