Those look like graphite gear boxes!
Evolution IV One-way gear ^....looks like it'll retrofit right onto our Evo3's
Check the Evo IV thread for the Evo IV pics I posted....
I wounder how many parts can be retrofitted & how much/can you do an Evo 3 to 4 conversion...

I just got evo III and I'm confused about the front gear box problem. Also is there any hop-ups that I should think about. thanks.

Get a ball diff
Full assembly for $40 (about how much it costs to put one together) at etamiya.com
One-way doesn't like a lot of track conditions though its supposed to be good on some

Tempted to ry the TB Evo 4.
I posted the latest news on the TB Evo 4 at 3Hobby.Com just now.
As I follow the story of this car around the net I am more and more tempted to try one out. Have any of you tried this car out? What is it like compared to the XRay or the M414?
Thanks!

Ditto new suspension arms as long as you buy the whole set including knuckles etc. (Dogbones are now 46mm?)
Probably little benefit for the new chassis & topplate.
But if you're gunna go that far, might as well just buy a new kit.

Went out testing again, strangely just about had the track to myself & friends today. Brought the EvoIII, pair of SLs and a TB02... and we tried every combination available. Twin diffs, oneway, jammed front diff (spool)... the oneway is still the fastest.
Twin diffs work best when tarmac DRIFTING though!!

why do people prefer a spool to a one way or diff?
spool=braking,understeer
one way=turning,no braking
diff=braking with better turning then spool
i know one ways are illegal in some races but why choose a spool over a diff?
just wandering.
thanks

I guess to answer this question, I would say the difference is the on power effect that the spool or the one-way has over a diff. They pull out of the corner better than a diff.

I would say yes, but there is more races requiring no one-ways.
