Tamiya TB-Evolution III

Hey guys,
My EVo's are still ripping it up, quick question though, is anyone else having weight problems with the standard evo?
My surikan weighs it at around 1470 grams, but my standard weighs in at 1560-70 depending on battery. I think I might have to invest in some Titanium screws and the such, but I can't see where the extra weight is, this is what I have in the stand evo.
Evo 111 Chassis
Johnno 540
Futaba S9550 Short Digital Servo
Futaba HRS Receiver
Futaba MC800 Pro Speedie (the small sucker)
Fukuyama 3300 Cells
Chrysler 300M Body shell
My surikan edition has all that except for the speedie which is a LRP Super SPort I think, one of em anyway which is bigger and heavier. Any ideas on lowering the weight?

ever since i replaced the front one way to a ball diff, wholla... no more stripping bevel gear....
however, come to my dismay, the small bevel gear gave me problems... the gear has some how came to a spiral effect..... any1 has this problem???
perhaps, my stock motors had too much torque to bear with.....

I've just replaced my drive shaft with the new tamiya light weight shaft. After I removed the old one I realized how worned out the notch in the front is. I think that was part of the reason why I start to wear out the bevel gear more and more often. You might wat to check yours too.

Is there a way of adjusting the caster on the EVO III?
Cheers, Mark.

Hi Jeffrey ! it's nice meeting you last saturday, thanks for the help with the TB III, i have finished rebuilding the car , can't wait for the next race ! I found the car has some torque steering issue which is understandable as being a shaft driven car..well, i guess i will see you this coming saturday , i will be looking forward to a tight battle

I have tried smaller toe in angle and it seems to give a little more top speed but you trade stability for it.

I removed the plastic battery mount and replaced it with two aluminium pieces. And I have the alloy upper arm mounts from the Surikarn. I hope to get closer to the 1500g barrier when I replace the one way with another ball diff.
