Hehe like I said, I'll start with a hi-5 ratio and work from there. Funny thing is that if you think they got hot at that gearing you should see the brushes after three-four runs, the turn silver !

Dif-user? Dif-abuser...errr Spooluser

Default Dotman,

2.6 to 1 is the internal. 39 teeth on the big gear, 15 on the small gear.

I have been looking at a Tamiya for a bit and it sounds like the car is a great handling car. The one area that creeps into the negative type review is in terms of punch and top end speed. What are the thoughts of the guys that have them and raced them? I am looking to get a new sedan soon and would love some info on that.

Thanks

Jeff

i race stock with mine , we all have johnson 540's and 1300nicd's
i'm the only one with a evo and i believe my car is the fastest.
once i get better at driving it, i'll be creamin them all!
the driveline is very free, all i did was relube the bearings.
people were coming up to me and saying how my car was "like a rocket!" at the last meeting.
hopefully nobody else there gets one, or i'll be doomed
imagine it with ceremic nitrade bearings?
btw almost all the cars i race agaist are Xrays (belt drive)

Hey Jeff, I have not had issues with punch etc. I've raced mostly in 19T and some Open Mod. The car handles both great. I've also raced against all the usual suspects and had great success.
