Montech product in the US
Anyone who is looking for Montech products in the US, Awesomatix USA is going to start carrying them. We will be starting off with the Nazda 2.0 TC body, and F1 wings (maybe bodies too? im sure hanulec will post and let us know).
The Nazda 2.0 is very popular in europe, it has similar characteristics to the PF speed6, but with better mid-corner/exit speed. Trying it at my home track today, I turned similar times to a speed6, but I didnt have to drive as hard to do them so it was more repeatable. Let us know if there is anything else you would like to see carried in the US! |

back orders of Mon-Tech TC bodies opened up now. Mon-Tech opens back up Jan 4th after the New Year's break...
|
Nazda2 tq + win 17.5 and 13.5 at Hudy on St Louis - Sam Isaacs
Tq 17.5 at WCICS in Victoria- Ron Atomic Bodies in stock now. Shipping to ROAR tomorrow too.. |
Got a few minutes on the Nazda3 and Silvy today, with much more planned for tomorrow. Today was a ROAR Reg2 race at Middle River, MD. We had to run ROAR certified bodies so I ran my prior goto, the Speed6. During an open practice between round 3 and the main I ran both bodies. They required a front body post position two holes down on my A800A.
Nazda3 has much more initial steering than the Speed6 and allowed me to perform my fastest lap time and consistently ran quicker laps. Everything was just easier, as compared to the Speed6. I then put on the Silvy, and it had a ton of turn in, with a lot of Rear end grip. This will be far superior on asphalt than carpet, but could also work very well on carpet if you really like the LTC-R feel. |
I am a big fan of the Nazda 4 on carpet. I tried a 3 after running the 4 and it didn't have the corner entry speed of the 4.

Tried the Silvy back to back with an LTC-R after racing at the Roar Region 2 race and I was a fan of it. It had more aggressive turn in on high speed sections and really liked to round off tight 180's.
I ran faster times with the Silvy than the LTC. I tend to run my cars a little pushy and easy to drive and this gave me a tick more of an aggressive feel. |
I got to try all of the montech bodies Awesomatix USA is selling so far today- Nazda 2, Nazda 3, and the Silvy. As I posted before, the N2 compares to a speed6, but is easier to do fast laps with, just had a little more overall steering. The Silvy compares with an LTC, but again I think has more entry steering and rotates a little better. The N3 has maybe more entry steering than an N2, but less rotation.
My opinion is, N2 is the best choice for carpet, and the Silvy for asphalt. People who like an LTC on carpet may like the Silvy on carpet as well but it will be more prone to traction rolling when grip comes up |
I have liked the Nazda2 for carpet--both new and old CRC carpet. Certainly has more mid and exit steering compared to the Speed6, and also seems to have a little more initial steering as well.
I haven't had a chance to run the N3 or Silvy as of yet. From the looks of the Silvy, it looks like a more aggressive option suitable mostly for asphalt applications, as Gee mentioned. |
Got a chance to try the Silvy yesterday, and I agree with Gee that it rotates less mid/exit than the N2 does. It seemed to me to have more initial steering and is very comparable to the LTC-R. Should be a great option outdoors or for those who like the LTC feel on carpet tracks. :tire:
I will most likely stick with the N2 for carpet racing, and hope to try the N3 soon enough. |

We have been running these bodies for a while at RSD Speedway. They are great bodies. ReflexRacing has had them for a while in the US.

Newly approved Mon-Tech bodies shake up the ROAR Carpet Nats--
17.5 TQ -- Mike Gee- Nazda2 13.5 TQ -- Sam Isaacs- Nazda2 + many Nazda2, Nazda3 and Silvy bodies plus F1 front and rear wings being run at the event. Best wishes to everyone in their mains tomorrow... |
Ran three other bodies yesterday at Middle River
Nazda4 - has much more turn in than Nazda2, but feels closest to a HPI Subaru or Sweep body because of the aggressive turn-in. Body is very free center out. It doesn't have the same high level of grip that the Silvy does though. As compared to a Nazda2, our cars were 0.2-0.3s slower with this aggressive body. Stratos - the body has a very low profile. It has minimal turn-in as compared to Nazda2 but was much freer center out. Body also appeared to want to traction roll in high speed sweepers more than any other. As compared to a Nazda2, our cars were 0.1s slower. Evo - the styling of this body makes it look as it could be good for USGT. When raced in that class, the body was just as fast as the Protoform ATS, but had a slightly different characteristic -- more rear grip. |
1/2 of a big stock order just arrived. new in the order is the F13 body, Touring car Wings, and XRay X1 alloy chassis sets + parts. restock of Nazda2, F15, and F1 wings
Nazda4 is going in for ROAR certification this week. finally, if you haven't seen it, check out the latest body, IS-200. when we have availability info on this new body it will be shared here first: http://www.redrc.net/2016/04/montech...ring-car-body/ |
Anyone compared the Silvy with the new LTC 2.0?

Both bodies feature more grip and steering on entry than the ltc. I think both will be great on asphalt or lower grip carpet ... But could be to "stuck" on high grip carpet |
IS-200 now is stock at AwesomatixUSA. The body is going in for ROAR approval on Monday. Hopefully mother nature will let it to be tested outside this weekend!

Bruno just grabbed the Round #2 TQ -- note the very nicely pained IS-200

Myself, I prefer the Speed6/Nazda2 balanced feel on mid/high grip -- but again prefer the middle/exit rotation on the Nazda2. |

To me, the IS-200 drove very similar, but with improved middle/exit rotation than the LTC-R. So if your a driver that enjoys the entry aggressiveness of an LTC-R on carpet, then the IS-200 is going to be a body you'll at least want to try.
