I saw the post about hinge pins and figure I would point this out to anyone who hasn't seen it.

It looks like Amain recently added some titanium hinge pin sets from Revolution Design. You can get the whole set or just the inners/outers separately.

Just curious, why go to titanium for the hinge pins? The way I look at it, I'm already underweight, so if I remove weight from the pins, I have to add it to a place that will be higher off the ground and cause the CG to rise. Also, a good steel pin is stronger than a titanium pin.

I wouldn't at the inner hinge if I wasn't needing to lose weight but the outers would, arguably, reduce unsprung weight which is always good. How good? Depends how much you're losing.

outer hinge pins are definitely weak, it seems those aftermarket pins are backordered

Any 2mm pins that dont have the cutaway for the set screw is better than wat comes in the kit i use dromida 2mm pins and cut them down as needed

the newest pins shipping are no longer cut thin all around. they just have a flat spot in the middle.

Good point about the unsprung weight.

have not tried them yet but Im sure they will be fine they look exactly like the AE ones. 60 bucks for 4 is better than 50 for 2 anyday. I made sure I bought the AE towers and bearing caps so the geometry didn't change so Im not worried

I too are thinking of strapping on a set. AE has had mine on back order for 3 months through Tower. Is this the set you ordered?

That's the one I ordered. As far as the bearing caps, I had to order one side from A main and the other from TQ. All the parts will be delivered today, won't get to run it until a week from Saturday. The nice thing is I'm upgrading my TC7 to a TC7.1Y (Y for yokomo shocks) and I will be taking my TC7 bearing caps, shock towers, and shocks and putting them on my TC6.2 VTA car. So now I will have a TC6.2 with TC7 shocks, a TC7.1 with Yokomo shocks, and a full-up TC7.1.

Back in November I had all the 7.1 parts come in except for the shocks. The TC7 shocks are a nice upgrade for my VTA ride
