Default Awesomatix Toolbox App

Good morning fellow AMX drivers,
I wanted to see if any of you have had issues with the setup sheets saying they couldn't be opened because they're corrupted on the Awesomatix Toolbox App. I deleted the setup sheet, tried a new setup sheet, removed the app, rebooted phone, and reinstalled. Still the same thing.
2 weeks ago all was good?
I have an Samsung Note20 Ultra 5G for reference.

Also, I also assume this app was not written/created by Awesomatix.

Thank you,

I haven't had any issues opening up setup sheets. But when I try to use the app to fill out my own setup I can't put anymore than 2 characters in most of the fields. Shock setup and shim fields. Using an iphone here.

Hey Red5Ltr and Tremor24.
I am Thimo and the developer of the Awesomatix Toolbox. I saw the error for the first time this morning when I updated my smartphone from Android 10 to Android 11.
I guess you both already have Android 11?

I am trying to fix the bug as soon as possible and to publish an update. Currently, PDFs are still opened externally (not in the app, but e.g. opened with Adobe Reader). Google has apparently changed or blocked this function in the new Android version.

Does anyone else run on black carpet that seems to get less traction as the night goes on? I know in general, as the race day goes on the traction should come up. But my car and another guys car seem to get looser as the night goes on. Still good front end grip, but the rear starts to step out. Last Friday at our club race I made a practice run and was on the verge of traction roll and ran really great times. But by race time the car had started getting looser. I made adjustments through the night, but the car was still loose for the mains. I am experiencing this with my 21.5 mmxa with jaco blues. To be honest, I have always though our track loses traction through the night, but others said it gains traction and slows the cars down. But I always run better times when I think traction is high, and as the night goes on we loose about a tenth a lap. But if there is a way that traction comes up and the rear starts stepping out I would be happy to know how to fix it. Thanks

Does the temperature drop where the track is? Lower temps on carpet will make traction fall off, having the track built on a subfloor makes the traction swings less abrupt, and overall traction more even over the surface.

If it's not a temperature issue, you might be scrubbing the front tires to a higher temp in the higher traction, in which case your overall setup balance is probably a bit too biased toward steering, and it shows up more when the grip comes up.

The temp throughout the night should come up due to people being there, with that said, the carpet is directly on concrete, no sub floor. As far as setup, I run a pretty stiff front end and the other guy runs a front end that flexes a lot more. We both run in the 2.4/2.4 gap range with soft springs. I dropped down to a 2.0 b gap for the main and raised my rear wing height by 2mm. It helped, but still loose. My tires are pretty end of life though, maybe they were folding over a bit.

Cold floor is going to hurt grip, and so are tires that are end of life.

front or rear b-gap change? i would only change the rear b-gap (making the # smaller) to create a stiffer spring if you want to gain some grip. i think you should probably consider a rear arm roll center change -- raising the arm up to gain some rear grip. or you could put a stiffer rear sway bar in.

so this is one of the things that is so confusing about setup. If the rear end is breaking loose, won’t raising the rear roll center make it worse? Since the change will have have even less roll? I have never understood how stiffer springs could increase traction. Stiffer springs inhibit weight transfer. Generally I make the front end stiffer to decrease traction on that end of the car. But, I will try to stiffen up the rear to see if it helps.

And... Post a complete setup sheet so we can really help...

Or start with one of the team setups and go from there.

Posting my setup... I have been working on this for quite a bit. In practice this setup is pretty darn good. The car is very predictable and fast! Like I said before, the issue is on race nights the rear tends to get loose, turn in seems the same, it is mid corner and corner exit that are the problem. This is most of the time, sometimes the whole car will get loose and I can purposefully drift it. And yes, I am being serious. Imagine a 21.5 TC setup for black carpet running Jaco blues drifting a lollipop corner.
