Yeah, that's what I figured with setup, just seeing what the consensus was.

Tyres is a tricky one, having never run on it before.

I have a question about the metal battery holders (AM12-1).

As well as being a heavy guy (ha), I also have a pretty heavy car. The problem stems from my electronics side being especially heavy. I think the aluminum ORCA VXXX is most of it, but the aluminum servo and 15x30 motor fan probably don't help either. To counter this left-side weight, I have a 7600 mah battery on the right side with 15g of weight stuck on to the outside edge.

All this puts my car about 15 or 20g over the 1380g weight minimum. Now I know the proper answer is to lighten up the electronics side of my car, but I'm not going to replace hundreds of dollars of electronics (not to mention I have two identical cars) just to save 20g of weight. What I'd like to do is remove the weight taped onto the outside edge of the battery and then move the battery outwards to counteract the electronics side.

The battery holders appear to adjust inward (for skinnier batteries?) but won't extend any further to move the battery outwards. Do we (we, meaning Awesomatix) have any plans to make battery holders that extend further to move the weight we've already got onboard instead of having to add weight?

On a side note, I just ordered some titanium camber and steering links to reduce weight as well. I'm not sure how much weight that'll save, but I'm sure it'll help.

MostlyT-
Other options you have--
Shimming out the motor to gain balance
Investing in some titanium and/or alum screws
Not balancing your car /aka doing nothing

At the 2016 roar nationals and other major carpet races this year we focused on car handling and driveability with weight placement. So cars were 1400-1410 w/o a single worry..

Steel screws
Aluminum screws/pivot balls at outer hub areas only

Yeah...this one is interesting. With a PCR 7600(?) @ 330g I'm battery side heavy. I had to move electronics out on the chassis and still stick a 15g of ballast off the side of the receiver to static balance and I'm at 1385. That is including the AX servo (which I think is a little heavy), protoform anti-tuck do-dad, 12awg wire, esc fan installed, and a non 1 light coat spray bomb body. Getting down to 1350 balanced will be interesting...

All you need to do is drop a hiro screw kit on, they are good for ~25g off.

Hey Oleg,

I have a question to the new AM06-W. Do the team using them on asphalt?

I donīt see a special note on Max or Viljamis setup sheets if they using them.

I have a 3 month old chassis kit with the soft alloy chassis for carpet and a brand new kit with the 2,25mm carbon chassis for asphalt. The new kit was delivered with the new AM06-W and the old kit has the AM06S-M.

I would switch them if you say they new AM06-W works only on carpet, or I will get some in addition for my carpet chassis if you say they work on both.

As the first rollout with the asphalt chassis was interrupted by heavy rain I donīt have much clues right now.

The Hiro Alumn top screws would take 12 grams off if you replace the Titanium ones and leave titanium on the bottom only.

I've stripped more than a couple aluminum/titanium screws in my day, and to go from the strong/hard kit screws to anything softer would cause a lot of frustration on my end. I'm going to stick with the kit screws, although I'm hoping the new titanium turnbuckles will reduce a little weight as well.

Hi Philipp1990,

We are using AM06W on Hudy Arena (ETS final race) now.
Setups for this race are in progress but AM06W is the choice of our team drivers at the moment.

I wonder why your car is heavy then.. I'm at 1380 on the nose with stock steel hardware. Same battery/servo, Lrp esc. Did you mean to say you don't have a LW body?
