Default Speed Runs what distance

For the folks who like to do Speed Runs. Have you ever played with the distance to see just how long does it take to achieve your top speed. I know that will vary depending on what your top speed is, gearing etc etc. Mainly for speeds of say 80 MPH or more. No right answer just always wondered after seeing some videos at times..

Nic Case used Airport Landing Strips/Air Fields when ever possible - but that was in his quest for 200 mph.

I'm in Winston Salem.. Currently have a HPI Sprint 2 Drift Car ( MINI Cooper painted up like my 1:1 car ) HPI 2wd SCT and a Traxxas Slash 4X4 SCT w/1/8 scale Motor. I run 3s on it but it's capable of 4s and while speed runs aren't really my thing might do a few at some point just to see what it/I can do without completely redoing the truck for it.. I was just wondering after watching videos if anyone has done them and say had a top speed of 80 mph and then kept shortening their run to see how short of a distance they could run and yet achieve their top speed..

We did 100ft drag race at hobby store few years ago. I've found the 100-150 feet is good distance for most of my vehicles. Have to leave room for stopping.
