WGT outdoors ?
Seems like F1 would be a far more relevant class and no 1/12 stock or Superstock ? The only time in the past 5 years a pan car class has had more than 10 entries at an asphalt Nats was the 17.5 1/12 class in 2010 (15 entries). The 1/12 13.5 class had 17 entries in 2011 but they combined the modified and 13.5 entrants. I's ditch the pan car classes altogether but as a Worlds qualifying year ROAR might have some obligation to at least keep 1/12 modified. F1 is a logical choice but even that isn't exactly setting the World on fire. And at some point the classes have to be limited. ROAR could add mini coopers, 2wd buggies, and Spec Slash to up the numbers but at some point you have to stop handing out Championships. |

I'm totally for 1/12 on asphalt, but the numbers are not good:
2014 mod 5 13.5 8 17.5 - WGT 10 2013 mod 7 13.5 - 17.5 6 wgt 7 2012 mod 6 13.5 - 17.5 10 wgt - 2011 mod - 13.5 17 (mod inclusive) 17.5 - wgt 8 2010 mod 10 13.5 - 17.5 15 wgt 8 F1 would be great but the recent Tuning Haus race at Tamiya only got 12 cars. |

Surprising World GT has had an equal to or higher entry count that 1/12 mod, 13.5, or 17.5 the last couple of years which isn't saying much considering all have been under 10.

The only thing I see missing is a secondary 1/12 class. However the fact is that anything other than TC at the asphalt Nats has been a failure in recent years.
2014 1/12 Mod Could pull maybe 15-20 1/12 stock for this event, probably not enough to hand out a Championship WGT in Socal though will be a tough sell alltogether Maybe time to bring back the 235 Class :D |
Track is looking good...

Sorry for the duplicate posts, but it seems this site had some issues in the last 72 hours. Juan and Rick had the same issue as it seems. :D
BTW: The track has a fresh coat of slurry! |

No control tire for WGT? |
Hey Fred,
Any sort of information you can give us regarding non-Tamiya vehicles being able to run on the track anytime before the Wednesday controlled practice day directly before the nationals? Are there any plans for a "Fredtech" Race and practice day? Or even more beneficial: Everyone I have spoken to regarding the subject would be MORE than happy to pay a reasonable fee to be able to run their non-Tamiya cars at the track on normal track days. This extra capital from non-Tamiya practice participants could be rolled into paying for increasing costs of track maintenance and renovation. It seems like a win-win for everyone if you ask me...? |

I'm planning on having two Fred-Tech Races before the ROAR NATs. I will email the first date next week for those who I have email addressed from the the first 2 races. I will also post it here. Can't do the Open practice every Saturday, but working on alternate idea. |
