So for gt10, standard tc with non-tc body and 17.5. Any locals have a favorite body that works great at tamiya track? Like protoform camaro or Cadillac? Any other tips or tricks for that class?

Hello everyone,
As everyone on this thread already knows, for the first time ever, Tamiya America Raceway is host to a ROAR National event. I will post facts and points here concerning the Tamiya facility and answer any questions I can as the “host” of the event and promoter. If you have ROAR specific rules and procedures to the event I will answer what I know, but you should ask ROAR Race Management members ROAR specific rules and procedures. Quick FACTS: 1. The ROAR Paved On-Road Nationals will be taking place on September 10-13. 2. The ROAR RACE MANAGEMENT team will be taking control of controlled practice, seeding and qualifying beginning Thursday September 10. 3. Tamiya America Raceway track management will be conducting an “open-controlled” practice day on Wednesday September 9. The track will have all the rental tables, chairs and power set up on Tuesday September 8. There is no need to bring anything except your racing gear. The track is NOT open on Tuesday. 4. The “Open-Controlled” practice day track hours are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. At 10:00 am controlled practice by race class will commence. I will have the Tamiya Race computer on if you want your lap times. 5. There is a $15.00 practice fee. 6. The track facility will have pitting set up the same way as was done for the Reedy Race. There is plenty of pit space. Sponsors will receive designated areas. Racers who show up for Wednesday practice may reserve their pit spot on that day. 7. RV’s are not permitted on the Tamiya property whatsoever. We do not have space for RV parking. 8. Sponsors of the event will receive designated parking close to the track as will the ROAR Race Management team. 9. I will post your parking options the closer we get to the event. 10. There are two controlled tires. One for Touring Car and one for GT-10. The exact brands and compound are revealed on the ROAR Flyer, which should go live any day now. 11. The price to racers for either tire is $30.00 (includes tax). 12. The official race tires and seeding tires will have the official ROAR 2015 logo on the wheel. 13. Practice Tires only will be sold beginning on Wednesday if you need tires from the controlled batch of the event. I will check with ROAR Race Management if qualifying tires may be sold before they arrive. 14. ROAR mandates how many you may use for both qualifying and racing. You will need to use the controlled tire purchased at Tamiya for the 2 seeding rounds. It’s the same rules as is done for the Reedy Race. 15. Hotel information may be seen here: http://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/tcs.php?article-id=567 More information to follow. If anyone has questions about the facility please feel free to post your questions here. FM |
