Hey guys, I am pretty new to the F1 RC cars. I recently picked up a TRF102 and finished the build already except for installing the esc.

My question is that i wanted to place the esc in front of the motor and have the battery behind the servo; but since the trf 102 has that flex plate. Wouldn't placing the esc on that flex place affect the flex and travel?

I will try to post some pictures of my build once i am done, if someone can post a picture of their electronics placement. That would be great.

the other t-bar is 1.8mm

try saucing the front more or rear less - like I said I've never been a fan of saucing

You absolutely should not mount anything on the flex plate/t-bar - its what makes the rear suspension work

Put a clear lexan on top of a thin sponges, there you have a platform to put an ESC on. It works for me.

As much as I personally hate using it, are you saucing the tyres?
Thank, I will try this next weekend (more camber, more toe-out).
The stiffer t-bar is built in already.

I sauced front und rear tires equally. I will do some experiments here next time.

If you try to put a shorty lipo in the front, you can also put a screw on the main post (BA18)
It can act as a lipo holder there

Thanks for the info. Would you mind letting me know how to keep the shorty lipo up front in place? Do you strap it down?

Finally finished my F1 car; well except the wheels and the shell.

I placed the esc in front of the motor, i used a piece of lexan to prop the esc up so it wont touch the t-bar. Thanks to Alan Chow for the suggestion.

Was also able to keep the battery in place with some foam and a battery holder from the kit that you can put in the front.

I am running one of those new sanwa RX-481 receiver that has an internal antenna. It was pretty much the same price as the RX-471.

Tried my 102 for the first time today. Car was really good until I hit a board and broke my t-bar. Who knows where I can get spares for this car? Can't seem to find any around. Specifically, 1.5mm tbar and the F Parts arm set.

Not sure where you are based...

This company in Germany has all parts in stock.

Yes, thatīs a good shop, but t-bars are not in stock. Do the F104 t-bars fit (perhaps with some changes)?

The trf102 t-bars are unique to the model.
