Hi Ph3nyx, what do you mean by upright shaft position to the rear? Is it the front upright shaft position? What kind of difference in feel did it give?

I have had my best results using the thicker t-bar with the ta03 blue (firmest spring is softest spring set) center spring, gold fronts and tamiya soft friction grease. my ride height is level at 4.5mm with no sag and 1.5mm pod droop. I am still running the stock front end using the #1 camber setting and 5mm shim under the front of the upper arm, w/ 3mm uptravel.

The car had exceptional corner speed, good steering though all phases of the corner and transitioned quickly.

On the downside i had poor forward traction and it was unstable under braking when the chassis was loaded. Using a stiffer chassis i was able to solve the braking instability and have made a top deck to provide a similar effect with the stock plate. I havent found a solution to the relatively poor launch compared to my 104 yet.
Hi mtveten,

Is the f104wgp's lower deck a direct fit for the trf102?

kinda. The extra holes for the new servo mounts arent there but the included plastic ones git fine. The extra top deck support screws for the 102 utout chassis arent their either but since the chassis is milled using the 2 through the t-bar and chassis together like on the previous generations works just fine.

The modified x1 top deck is a better way to stiffer the car for carpet.

I am going to tamiya gp so not sure if that is legal. We are to run on non sauced sponge. I am not too sure if that will cause too much flex for the trf102. Deciding between wgp n 102

Im fairly certain a modified deck wouldnt be legal but i doubt the wgp chassis on the 102 would be either. For a lower grip carpet track I would expect the regular 102 flexible deck to be best.

IF you have to run the stock chassis parts, and grip starts coming up, double sided tape the battery to the lower chassis to add stiffness.

Yes the front upright shaft. it stabilise the car, feels easyer to drive. but you loose some entry corner speed (not much)

Car ran great today....still kit setup other than the Exotek front end.....5 degree toe out, -1.5* camber, 50 weight in rear shock, gold front springs and 171/172 Pits....front lower arm is kinda brittle....not flexible like the 104. Love this car....very happy I went back to Tamiya

The new front arms may be stiffer but they can also break as I saw yesterday. That was with a big crash ( another car in the wrong way). I didn't like the carbon front suspension when tried on my F104 outdoor (not enough steering with Ride tyres and painful to change setup) but indoor this could do the job.

I just got another TC and this will be sitting so it's got to go.
Still got this. Offers?

Here is the top deck installed.......it makes the chassis a lot more stiff...all parts will be ready for shipping after a bit of testing
